  1. Schlafly Bottleworks will soon be brewing their Raspberry Hefeweizen. This is a seasonal beverage, and the beer is made with real raspberries. I think that the natural ingredients make it taste better than beer brewed with artificial flavors. The beer has a tangy taste that goes well with bratwurst. I usually don't drink to excess, but if I decide to knock back a few, it's good to know that The Schlafly Tap Room is a five minute walk from my house! Cheers!
  2. Chocolate chip cookies from Pizza Hut are great. They're soft and made with a generous helping of chocolate chips. They taste even better when fresh out of a toaster oven. What other franchises have excellent snacks?
  3. I usually don't marinade steak, because it can take away from the natural flavor of the meat. I read this recipe, however, and I thought I would try this marinade. Recipe Reference: http://www.food.com/recipe/heineken-beer-steak-marinade-425104 2 cups Heineken beer 1 cup soy sauce 3 tablespoons minced green onions 1⁄4 cup vegetable oil 1⁄2 teaspoon dried thyme 3 tablespoons Tabasco sauce 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice If anyone has tried this, I would like to hear your appraisal. In addition, if you have a recommendation for a steak marinade, let me know. Thanks.
  4. Have you ever been to Courtesy Diner? It's right up the street from Washington University and it's pretty close to my alma mater, Webster University. Courtesy Diner also makes a great Slinger.
  5. This is a St. Louis classic. It's called a Slinger. The ingredients are exceptional: two eggs, hash browns, and a slice of ham all covered in chili con carne and copiously topped with cheese and onions. The eggs can be any style. I like them sunny side up. I got the list of ingredients from Wikipedia.
  6. Hello from St. Louis. I'm Curtis. I enjoy everything about eating food. I'm not a chef but I do, however, enjoy trying new foods and new drinks. I particularly like to try new beers with a meal. I'm open to suggestions. I look forward to learning more about food and drink.
