Here you go!
The sherry isn’t listed in the ingredients. How much do you use?

When my mom served meatloaf which was not often my dog got all of mine.
Has anyone seen “The Wedding Crashers”? MA MEATLOAF NOW.

@Chimayo Joedont bother with the Ore Ida extra crispy anything. It’s genuinely disgusting. They basically double up on the breading, fall apart when cooked and make a mess that isn’t at all worth it.

Ooof. I’m with @Anna N beans will never touch my plate or my lips.

As a kid I would think I was sneaky and eat all the crumble toppings off the Entenman’s coffee cake my parents liked. They weren’t amused but I loved it. They’d hide it in taller cabinets so I’d just climb on the counters and pull it down. 😁

Fries are much better in an air fryer than the oven imo.

@Shelby I have ordered the same cheesesteaks from Pats before. I also froze them. I thought they were awesome. My ex of course ate 3 1/2 of them. 🙄😡

@Chimayo Joe I found Nathan’s onion rings to be fairly good for a frozen product.

And day three of that batch of All Trumps dough -- texturally, starting to show its age, but still a good pizza. I went with just canned crushed tomatoes and salt as the sauce, which is also delicious, though I am still quite fond of the (more) cooked tomato sauce. I'm going to take a brief break from NY style this week, I've got an Artisan pie queued up for Tuesday, before returning to this exploration.
I want this!! Wow! Well done! -
Idk maybe my palate is subpar or I’m lazy but good pizza in the NYC metro area isn’t that elusive to me
That said I’d easily eat a subpar slice while shopping at the Union Square Farmers Market during my lunch break.
Nicoletta is imo pretty good on Northern NJ.

@liuzhou what is the green vegetable in the spiced chicken dish? Those shrimp balls are gorgeous! Looks like a great meal.

INTERESTING! Does this really work? If so, I am eternally indebted!
I have been told previously it does actually help.
I am super clumsy so all the advice is appreciated. And I prefer west coast oysters which are smaller but also harder to source on the east coast.
Also, how does one know of an oyster is “bad”? Clams are obvious when cooked but personally I don’t know if I could determine a good raw clam or oyster from a “bad” one and that makes me nervous.
Once/if/when covid rates in NJ stop breaking records I’d like to go to a local seafood restaurant and see if they’d allow me to “help” prep during the day.

Shucking oysters is a skill I would love to learn.

@Shelby would you mind elaborating on the mushroom salad? I adore mushrooms.

I'm only on the first place in the video and I want to go there now. Had no idea Parsippany had such an Indian presence (and It's only an hour from us). Will definitely try to get there esp this Dhaba Express. Thank you!
Hope it works well for you. Indian food has been prevalent in Parsippany for a few decades.

I'm normally a Darwinist/survival of the fittest/the market forces will prevail kind of guy, so, in the past, when a restaurant would shut down, I'd be fairly optimistic that something comparable would pop up in it's place, but, this is different.
Thai egg rolls can frequently be on point, but, they're not the traditional filling that I grew up/search for. Personal preference might come into play here. Chinese egg rolls these days tend to be fairly greasy- that's something that I look for
The other Chinese restaurant offering that I've searched far and wide for is Chicken and Broccoli (brown sauce) with soft/well cooked broccoli. I've done back flips trying to get my local place to cook the broccoli sufficiently, and I've come to the conclusion that it just isn't possible.
oh I absolutely agree. It’s impossible to find a good chicken or even beef and broccoli dish without almost raw broccoli. Makes me nuts. What’s your local place?
While I enjoy raw broccoli in a crudités dish I do not in a cooked dish.
I’ve never been an egg roll enthusiast, potstickers are more my thing. and most have extremely thick skins which is not ideal imo.

Gotcha. Perhaps I haven’t had a genuinely cask conditioned ale. I think I may bypass Hops, simply because I’m going on a first date and unless you know Morristown, this time of year can be a nightmare to try and learn how to find Hops and where to park, etc.
I have been to the the Long Valley Pub but that was about… 23 years ago and back then I was underage. Now you couldn’t pay me to drive to Schooley’s Mountain. I did it often when I was young and dumb.
I’m thinking of Prospect Tavern for a first date. I think they have karaoke which I loathe but it could be a good, legitimate reason to escape if said date isn’t going well. While I have a car I use Uber or Lyft if I’m going out. Particularly if I’m going to Morristown.
I’d really like to go back to 1776 and try the clothes line bacon despite it being gimmicky and a salt aged steak. Unfortunately the bar there gets extremely busy and sitting at the bar is my preference while dining solo. I may try to go mid afternoon next week.
The menu at Jockey Hollow has never really appealed to me. I respect that they require proof of vaccinations. The menu to me just falls flat. I’d love to live in one of their condos but have yet to find an extra million laying around. 😂 Plus I’m in the middle of a divorce.
But if you want an eating buddy, let me know. There are some very decent BYOBs like South and Pine around. I also appreciate old school restaurants like The Grand Cafe. I refuse to drive into town during this time of year and just Uber the whole 2-3 miles I go to my salon or on dates, etc.

@Smithy puff pastry pizza is one of my go to “cheater” appetizers, especially while watching sporting events. It’s also a guilty pleasure at home as I let Maisey hoover up all the flakes that fall! 😂

Never will I ever eat dry jasmine rice or any type of rice. It can and has choked me and poor Maisey was like wtf.
When I say dry rice, it’s fully cooked it just lacked moisture or any kind.
