  1. Try the Petite Cafe - I just got their assorted mini cupcakes for my family for Thanksgiving - it was a big hit.
  2. I Love the Fine Grind, it is very homey and everyone is very friendly. I love the different drinks - and especially the stuffed cupcakes. I try to spot by a couple of times a week. GO Rhonda!!! Great Billboard!!
  3. I just had dinner at the Petite Cafe in Nutley and their Special Dessert just happened to be Pumpkin Cheesecake. And they make pumpkin bread during the holidays - I got some last year - it was amazing, but I have not seen anything about it yet, sorry! Just give them a call they can probably tell you when they will start making it.
  4. I agreed with Michael's in Nutley. Most of the pizza's in this area just fall very flat - this is nice pizza.

    FASCINO

I had another exciting dinner at Fascino's, between this and my other favorite - The Petite Cafe - I will never get bored.
  6. I went there before - when it was Nunzio's - talk about dirty. I really don't care if the food it great - if it is not clean - I will not go. There are only a couple of restaurants that I'll go to in Nutley. A lot of them are just not that clean. I think that says so much. I would rather travel than eat close to home - just because of that.
  7. I totally agree, I love Corrado's. I can usually get some fantastic unusual items. But I don't go on Friday afternoons either. Mornings are best for me of Thursday Night. I do hate the check out though, that is the worst part.

    Sesame

Marie, Did you find anything to "swoon" you??
  9. I agree with pnaoli, We have been to the Petite Cafe a lot, we love the "style", Fresh unusual fish, nice presentations, it is definitely worth the trip. My other favorites are the ones already listed I am afraid, Fascino, Epernay, Luce has gotten much better as far as I am concerned, the chef there used to work at Papillon, I was sorry he left.
  10. Yes, John owns it, and yes the name is being changed to give it a steakhouse name. Last time I spoke with him he had not decided on a name yet. But that was about a month ago.
  11. I am going on Friday Night for Dinner - I am very interested to know what you thought.
  12. I really love the Franklin Steakhouse in Nutley!!!
  13. I forgot to add - did you know that The Petite Cafe got a 3 Star Review from The Bergen Record. It is on their website www.thepetitecafe.com
  14. Just like NR, I love the Petite Cafe. I have been going practically since they opened. I have been for breakfast, lunch, dinner and wine tastings. Breakfast is breakfast, lunch is wraps, salads and sandwiches, dinner is a completely different animal. We love how they are able to transform from a quaint luncheonette, to a fun dining experience. We just had dinner on Saturday night, I had their mussels, which I love for an appetizer and Opah with Lobster Butter and Vegetalbles and my girlfriend had the Fried Lobster Ravioli with the Cheese Fondue for the appetizer and the Tequila Guava Shrimp for entree. I like to go for the chocolate cake and my girlfriend had an ice cream chimichunga with Lignonberry for dessert. We absolutely loved everything. We love to go because the menu has a lot of imagination and we like a lot of diversity. I have been to Matisse, Village Gourmet, I love those also. I have mentioned The Petite Cafe before, and I totally agree with NR about his/her opinon, but I have just been afraid to state it so loudly. I am afraid that I will not be able to get a table next time I try to have dinner.

I thought Corso 98, burned down a few weeks ago????
  16. :huh I have found it hit or miss, I'm afraid. Somewhat decent the first time I tried it when they first opened. But then I went about 2 months later and was very disappointed. I'm not sure if it was a bad night or what! I'll probably give it one more try.
  17. I definitley agree that Little Saigon is a great restaurant. No need to go to Englewood.
  18. I agree about Montclair, I love the restaurants in Nutley, you have Terraza's, Franklin Steak House, Papillon and my favorite The Petite Cafe. Most of these restaurants have outdoor seating, it is just so pretty looking down Franklin Ave. and seeing all the tables outside. I only go to Montclair, because I have friends in Montclair, and we have to take turns who chooses the restaurants. The parking alone is exasperating!!!
  19. Rosie, It is not a deli, but it does serve breakfast and lunch, lunch is wrap sandwiches, salads, etc.
  20. By the way I get all of there weekend special on line www.thepetitecafe.com
  21. I know that you will love the Petite Cafe. I started going a few months ago, I wrote (njchick) about it. I have gone there several times since. It has a very NYC chicness (This that a word??), but also a very homey welcome feeling!! I am so surprized that none of you foodies have been there yet. By the way Larue - it is BYO. Have a Great Time!!!
