  1. My wife and I will be in SF for her 30th birthday and want this to be the complete food experience. I'm looking for suggestions for: 1) a real California burrito place (in the Mission, preferably), 2) a fantastic and interesting dinner place (nothing stuffy or traditional French please) in the $100/per person range, 3) a good Italian joint 4) the best place for Dim Sum. 5) And if anyone knows a great bakery for breakfast and coffee, we wouldn't mind the suggestion. Wow, am I demanding? I'd be happy to suggest the same for anyone visiting the under-rated restaurants of DC. Josh
  2. My wife's 30th birthday is coming up in June and we're looking to go away for the weekend. She asked that the travel combine natural beauty and a culinary experience -- a perfect discription of the Pacific Northwest. It doesn't have to be any one restaurant or resort for the entire weekend and we want to combine upscale and downscale -- some great farmer's markets, a real local diner with hearty breakfasts and an amazing dinner or three. Is Portland the place? Vancouver? Seattle? Thanks!
  3. My New Yorker wife and I like 2 Amys for Italian pizza and Facia Luna for decent normal pizza. 2 Amys is as good as anything we've had in NYC for real Neopolitan style, though you may want to ask them not to add extra salt before they serve you the pie. For corner take out Vace's on Connecticut Ave. in Cleveland Park is decent. Just our 2 cents.
