  1. Minas - I'm in awe of all your candies..... especially the pulled sugar. I'm really keen to have a go at pulled sugar. Been putting it off for months. Any good tips for a complete newbie to pulled sugar ?
  2. Not posted in a while as haven't had anything much to share. That's what happens when you are on a diet and avoiding sugar / carbs etc ! Anyway - started playing around with a few ideas for Halloween. This is one of them... cake layered with buttercream and jam (to look like a meat pie), covered in fondant and chocolate fingers.
  3. I'm really backlogged up with work right now, so unfortunately no time to play as I bring a lot of what needs done home with me. I did make some macarons at the weekend....which is about as much as I've had time for. I really want to play with pulled sugar. As soon as I clear this workload down a bit, I'm definately going to have a go - even if it turns out a disaster ! Minas - that salt water taffy is really pretty.
  4. for some reason, I'm terrified of the idea of pulling sugar - but on the other hand, I'm desperate to have a go for the first time. I don't have a suitable work surface atm, but I'm hoping the stainless steel top being made for my bench will get me by (whilst not being ideal)
  5. I'm in the UK. I'm hoping to book workshops 1 & 2 at Callebaut for the spring. There doesnt seem to be much around here. I'm really keen to have a play with pulled sugar too. Might need to wing it and see how it goes.
  6. Thank you I've not been making that much these last couple of weeks - though I am in the middle of constructing a gingerbread pirate ship at the moment (baked and ready to assemble) My most recent creation was these mallow creme filled chocolate teacakes
  7. Hello. This is my first post - so please be kind . I've been following Egullet for a couple of years - yet never got round to joining until recently. I've been playing quite a lot with chocolate in recent weeks and following the showroom finish post. I'm keen to start playing with coloured chocolate - but a little wary of jumping in with an airbrush straight away. I've bought Grewelling's book and William Curley's and look forward to having a play. The Choc Doc - those look marvellous. I love the way you highlighted one of the squares in the mini bar with another colour. Did you paint the coloured cocoa butter into the mould ? RobertM - cute idea with the JackoLanterns :-)
