  1. Thanks. FWIW, I have a microwave oven about the same size as the F. Blümlein. Looks like the F. Blümlein can do everything the microwave is currently being used to do except make water for tea.
  2. Thanks for your posts. Please try and make tea (in a mug) -- something I currently use my microwave to do. Google is not helping me find out if this machine can boil water.
  3. Welcome, Todd. Hope you find this an agreeable place.

    Okra

Many thanks to @Hassouni for bringing this thread forward. I (mostly) followed @My Confusing Horoscope 's okra recipe for gumbo (or okra stew) and it was derned delicious. I don't think I've ever made gumbo before. I used the Instant Pot with glass lid. Both fresh and frozen okra, 2 smallish onions, pasilla pepper (no GBP) cooked on Slow Cook High for 6-7 hours. Later in the game I added a can of tomato sauce, fresh garlic and a spoonful of puréed chipotle chile adobo. Much later, the shrimp were added. Outstanding!
  6. @md8232, I'm very interested in your impressions. I've heard many arguments for a CSO, but rarely for what's wrong with it. (I have not [yet] succumbed to this instance of DL enabling, so I don't know). 😄

    Looks superb! Recipe, please?
  8. I'm looking to replace these spatula spoons which I originally bought in the early 2000s. Two of them have just cracked and broken. The devices came from Traex, which I've looked for over the years without result. Model #609. Heat resistant to 400F. They're not much good for getting in the corners of things, but they're great for scooping stuff. Any idea where to find something similar? What do you use? P.S. I'm very annoyed that no seller seems smart enough to show 3D pictures of items on the internet. Why is that, do you suppose? P.P.S. The popcorn popper is for roasting coffee per @rotuts 's directions. As you can see the device is still in the box. Closer to the back door though, so I'm progressing. 😃

    Quarantine Comfort Food

@JeanneCake. When I was a newly minted independent, I was invited to dinner and fed Sweet and Sour Meatballs. I was fascinated by the idea that one could take a jar of jelly and a jar of chili sauce and make something totally different. So here it is: Sweet and Sour Meatballs by Martina Klees from St. Catharine's.pdf

    Potato mystery

Long ago I also heard that storing potatoes and onions together was not ideal. Is there any basis to that idea?
