  1. Don't know if you have already taken the trip, but I can give you a few suggestions. In my limited experience being in Indiana for a few years, I have found some real gems that I like to frequent. Most of these are a quick 10 minute drive off of I-70. Northeast of the city: LOCALLY GROWN FOODS- is a farmer's market that is open for lunch and dinner. The owner, Ron, has two specialties on the menu. First, is an open face bbq pork sandwhich which is made fresh every day. If you drive by, you can smell the hog roasting. The second is a nice piece of salmon prepared with either a sesame ginger mixed green salad or with his delicious homemade cole slaw. Don't forget to get a piece of sugar cream pie - it is the best! Downtown: There are many amazing choices: FOGO DE CHAO - Brazilian steakhouse with a fairly expansive "salad bar" which has veggies, breads, cheeses and cured meats HARRY & IZZYS or ST. ELMOS - the former being a bit more cost-effective but both serve the famous style shrimp cocktail Westside of city: BLACKSWAN BREWPUB - pub fair that is a bit more dressed up but for a resonable price. Great seasoned french fries (truffle oil and parmesan with bacon aioli are my favorite), sandwhiches, salads, and entrees. These are just a few of my favorite places. Hope that helps.
