thank you for the menu. Ive been to London late '60's /// early '70's you are correct . pretty grim in restaurants it was Chops , or at better restaurannts : Superb Indian. unless you passed a Fish and Chips take out first. -
My favorite soup : Bean w Bacon Ive made and had very good ' Navy Bean Soup ' but this Campbell's version now w a bit less salt ' Heart Healthy ' is better I add granulated garlic , and Spanish Smoked Paprika . mashed w a hand potato masher to a medium consistency. window green onion garnish. sometimes w a pat of butter :

@blue_dolphin interesting. how much oil do you use ? neutral oil ? can you taste the oil in the finished egg ? id there a ref. for this technique you can post ?

@Dejah scroll up on this thread I use ground turkey , Iused to make a 4 star meatloaf w ground turkey I do better w gr turkey than beef , ie flavoring etc. but now use the ' loaf ' for all sorts of things. my local brand , Shady Brook Farms simply presents a loaf in the standard sized plastic boat its ' thicker . 20.5 ox or so vs 1 lbs. its what I can easily get and work with its not worth a trip to find it , by brand , its ' wet ' etc but it goes on sale , and why pay more? some time ago in CA , at Detmiers their ground turkey was turkey they ground themself. not wet etc but this is what I can get an I can work w it.

Ive been working on this salad for a while : spinach , Campari tomatoes , sm shredded wheat croutons , walnuts , kimchi and sauerkraut . window green onions at the end. mixed w EVOO to the left , red wine and Demiglase , micro 30 second and mixed I use slab ground turkey , Stoney Brook Farems , as its thicker I cut the slab and handle it as little as possible seasoned ( varios no-salt blends ) waling for the FondLess on side two. what new is placed on top of the salad wine and demi reducing in the FondLess. poured over the turkey slab. remarkably tasty

its an onion used in an Rx that should be understood to be + / - for that ingredient . @haresfur I agree with you weigh stuff that matters as in baking onion size doesn't . for non-baking . Ive been watching Boston Legal recently a Judge says this : ' enough of the jibber - jabber ( sp ? ) ' this thread is jibber - jabber go back to the first response . study it carefully.

@haresfur '''' it doesn't really matter that much. ''' Q,E.D.

@Smithy I remember a science experiment I did at home , from some books for a person my age 10 y.o. I remember them vividly : take some fresh celery , place the trimmed stalks in some diluted ink , in my case it was red ink and wait and see. the experimental celery did have leaves an eventually , the red went through the stalks and into the ' veins ' of the leaves I remember this vividly , and checked every day. carrots wee not mentioned as a subject

@mgaretz those shrimp look delicious. are you able to buy fresh quality shrimp ? or do you buy frozen raw , or frozen cooked ? Im frequently disappointed w Fz raw and Fz cooked.

for me , TJ's has excellent dried fruit , w a large selection . supermarkets near me do not one exception : they used to carry dried cranberries that were both organic and not. they D/c'd the in-organic un sweetened . now only organic. they are expensive. I live near large cranberry fields. there are several brand names in \supermarkets , none carry unsweetened . Nuts are excellent;llent # Tj's , and fresh . good luck finding nuts fresh at a supermarket around here and cheese is 1/3.d less expensive than anywhere else . same cheese . and a large enough selection for me. frozen ' prepared ' items are more interesting that supermarkets. Wine selection is decent , and cheaper than Total Wine . forget about 3 buck chuck . Coastal series , 4 - 5 varieties , decent table wine for $ 4.99 a bottle. and there staff is friendly and gets to know y0u.

@Dave the Cook check around town for the Dorot Fz basil. other stores see to cary it in my area way back when , it was only TJ's I sued to be pretty fast w a knife , but local fresh garlic declined itself locally while I still had pretty good knife skills , in terms of consistency . aas for Dorot fz ginger , I have not noticed it. I keep whole unpeeled fresh - ( now frozen ) ginger in the freezer and grate it frozen. I cut off slices w a cleaver and mallet , for accuracy and use those in rice , etc. and I agree you are absolutely correct that freshly made battered fish , for frying is a million times better than any frozen commercial product , TJ's or not.
-
@FrogPrincesse what ravioli did you use ? does TJ's still have Dorot Fz basil , in the container w the small segments ? try that for the basil part next time , w TJ's various EVOO's from Italy you will get close enough to pesto , and add some of Tj's parmesan - rsh. thank you for the reviews of the TJ's items .
-
@BeeZee consider adding some fresh good quality curry powder to carrot soup . transformaional if you like curry. and it does not have to be hot curry powder .
-
@Smithy thank you for you update. Im hopefully your full family will return in good health. Ill keep them all mindfully.

this is my current salad : from TJ's" bagged spinach . it's regular ' baby ' Id like to easily find more mature s[inach , but the MarketBasket savoy is frequently chewed up a bit . Campari tomatoes . I buy them two packs at a time , and they sit on the counter for several days before use. TJ's sauerkraut a large forkful chopped walnut pieces , one of 4 TJ's EVOO I have from MarketBasket : Kimchi again , a large forkful MB carries this brand : Tj's brand comes in a much smaller jar . Im fine w this one and the last item from MB : you spotted it , w those eagle eyes : generic small shredded wheat , for the croutons . I always have them no sodium , or etc. I wouldn't sub them for your homemade version but they work well for me. the kimchi//kraut//campari have enough acid , no vinegar .
