  1. had a strange experience last night with this. we have a new guy whose driving me crazy! im on Expo in the middle of valentines day dinner rush and the new guy on hot aps(who in quite frankly driving me insane) yells "how many shrimp aps do i have all day!." "6 all day." i yell back "how many do i have all night?" he then yells "What the @#$@ does that mean?" i yell. "HOW MANY DO I HAVE ALL NIGHT!!!" he just kept yelling it this is a newer employee i havent really worked with him to much but afterward i asked him what he meant because frankly i have never heard that before. he said something to the tune of we learned it at the cia, and mabey i just wasnt cool enough to know what it meant.
  2. excellent thank you very much! the real problem wont quite be finding a job it will be finding one that i can feel comfortable working at. i dont wanna be working at place that serves "fry sauce?" which i assume is just ketchup mixed with mayo.
  3. the place i work has these giant 25 foot ceilings with pressed tin tiles! its insane there can be 12 people in the dining room and it sounds like a hundred in the kitchen. i used to get nervous like omg how many people are out there did we just fill up. then i go to check and there are literally four deuces its silly. but more to the point we get complaints all the time the servers come back and say "customers are complain about the noise." wadda ya want me to do ratchet the roof down a bit? tell everyone to shoosh? i think it helps if you cut out any music its completely unnecessary when your in full swing besides people are just gonna talk over it increasing all the noise.
  4. Hello to all! sorry this is my first post and im not so sure where to put it but regardless here goes. so in a few months i shall be moving to salt lake city Utah because my girlfriend loves it there and so on and so forth. i hear its lovely but i know nothing of the food scene. i have been working in the industry for a little over ten years and im currently employed as executive sous chef at a small fine dining restaurant. i was wondering if anyone on here could give me some pointers as to the best fine dining there is to be had there for i will be needing a job. every site i go to keeps pulling up the same restaurants but when i read reviews from customers on like yahoo or Google there all very negative. (as nearly all of them are any way i don't really trust it) i refuse to believe there's no upscale restaurants in salt lake!!! any input would be highly appreciated.
