  1. I use Appleton's VX in pretty much every rum cocktail. It is definitely more versatile, though the cocktail at the end doesn't taste anything like it would with the "right" clear rum. Here in Aus Havana Club is quite cheap and plentiful so would never use bacardi over it.
  2. It isn't cheap. Around 30-50 for mains and $10-$20 for the entree and salads.
  3. I'm roasting a chicken (with the skin stuffed with ricotta) right now. My trick for the skin is salt. Lots of it. And just let it rest in the warm oven (I just turn it off.) Also I think the oven should be fan forced, that helps a touch. I also stuff it with lemon. I've got this exact roast chicken recipe on my blog.
  4. I like the bottles with a more standard shape. They look great when next to each other on the bar. Campari, Mt Gay and Havana club. Though Mt Gay XO and Cointreau do have a unique shape.
  5. I think having good glasses definitely enhances the aroma of the wine, also lets it breathe a bit. Which is going to help if you aren't decanting the wine enough. I also think with Riedel, the non-stem glasses are pretty cool, especially if you are prone to breaking stuff. Not anywhere near affordable though as far as I'm concerned.
