  1. so i am not as much of an expert on pizza as others on this site, but i really don't think lucali's is worth a trip. it's great if you live in the neighborhood or have some reason to be in that beautiful part of brooklyn but i though the pizza was fine. neither the sauce or the crust stood out for me and although they do have a decent selection of toppings and they have calzones (which id did have and thought it just ok) there is not much else. i also found the service a little odd, a little rushed and a little too much in the know that they get these great ratings. my personal favorites of the ones that i know (and that is not all of the ones mentioned throughout these posts) include di fara (though it is a hassle and i have not been there in a while and very limited toppings), franny's is probably my top choice for all around pizza spot, excellent but limited toppings, good crust, very fresh, though it is expensive. i also really liked motorino -- probably the best sauce of anywhere. they have a pretty good selection of toppings. i was not as crazy about their crust as it was a bit softer than i'd like but supposedly that is the style. i also just ate at co which was pretty good with maybe the best crust (might be on par with franny's). they also have a pretty wide selection of toppings as well as other things to eat, and the space is pleasant.
