  1. Thanks for the welcome! I also wanted to add that a few years back a chef friend of mine offered her favorite bacon indulgence - Bacon wrapped Swedish fish. Apparently her method was to wrap the bacon around a Swedish fish and saute them together. I haven't been brave enough to try...

    Goldfish

I'm not sure you can actually taste the genuine cheese, but just knowing it's in there makes it OK to eat large quantities. Toast them in a pan to make them a bit more crunchy. Consume with beer. Grind them up, mix with some Old Bay, and fry some oysters. Who knows? ← Ooh lala, goldfish cookery, now that's what I like!! I wonder about a deep-fried mushroom coating? What's the verdict on whole wheat, does knowing that that's in there make it even better to eat in large quantities?
  3. Ooooh that "Cheerwine" sounds absolutely delicious. What sort of flavor does it have? As far as can vs. bottle, I think that none of us can deny the value of aesthetics when it comes to food and/or drink. In my opinion it's the difference between oatmeal with brown sugar sprinkled on top and oatmeal pre-sweetened. There's just something more delicious about a sprinkle of brown sugar. Once you take it out of the bottle (or can), though, I can see how there would be no difference...that's totally neat about the Coors blind taste tests! I also think that I heard that Coke and Pepsi, etc. have different recipes (not only different sweeteners) for their sodas based upon the region. Has anyone else ever heard of this?
  4. Hehe, I don't know about being stranded on an island with nothing but bacon, but I do often use it as almost if it were a spice to add to my dishes. I know what you mean about the crazy hype it has gotten over the past few months. I know that last summer I tried desperately to "grill bacon" I was told (read: I read online) that it was the absolute tastiest way to eat bacon. Unfortunately, I only ever ended up with blackened strips of some strange charcoal resembling substance. The hype for this type of bacon was enough that I'm still devoted to trying it. Has anyone ever gotten grilled bacon to work?
