Made a NY Strip and some french fries.

I've recently begun my journey to getting back in shape. I'm lifting and doing cardio, but diet is obviously the most importanct factor in general health as well as dropping bodyfat. I've read countless of opinions from people on bodybuilding/lifting forums who say just eat clean. I'd like to hear opinions from people, like ourselves, who have a genuine love of food. I'm interested in hearing how you balance health and food and if any of you have made efforts to get into shape and what you did as far as diet. I love cooking and good food and most food choices I use, now that I'm getting into shape, leave my tastebuds wanting something better. Thoughts? General opinions?

Ya it's going to be a workhorse and I don't need the mirror finish. I was just surprised to see a bunch of white stains after its first use. Do you have any recommendations when dealing with meats to avoid the salt stain, or is it something I just shouldn't worry about?

Ok, I just got a AC Stainless fry pan and have a couple questions/issues. 1. I have white marks all over the pan I'm guessing from the salt on the chicken breasts I just cooked. I saw you were supposed to bring liquid to a boil before adding salt, but how does that work when frying or sauteing? So, is there any way to remove the white blobs from the salt or am I stuck with them? And how are you supposed to use the pan without having that happen, are you just not supposed to use salt on meats if you're frying in stainless? First nice pan and it's already screwed up, at least aethetically. Kinda pissed at the moment so I'd appreciate any insight into preventing the problem from happening again and if there are any remedies for salt spots.

I'm not sure if this is a mistake or what, but I went ahead and placed an order. In any case, I was browsing sites looking at All-Clad SS stuff. Metro Kitchen has the All Clad SS 12" Fry pan with Lid on sale for 89.95, down from 180. It's weird cause they have the Pan without the lid for its normal 135. The pan is on backorder. I'll have to see if they're honoring the sale or whats the issue, but I went ahead and placed an order just in case. Figured I'd let yall know, if it works out thats a heck of a sale.
