  1. I am developing a taste for sushi, and am finding that the places I have been to in the south sound area have been pretty hit and miss. Any hidden gems around Renton, Auburn, Puyallup, Tacoma areas? Thanks. Mike
  2. LINK Would say a 2" stainless steel sphere stored in the freezer work better? No Ice to melt, no chance of picking up odors from the freezer, and alot less money to have a few in the freezer.
  3. Yes. The wife is a coupon freek. we couldn't afford to shop the way we were after she lost her job. This is now her full time job. We are still eating good, and she doesn't need to go back to work now. We save about 70% on every trip now. Don't be haters, you might need to use coupons one day.
  4. I have used Penzeys and Penderys for chiles, but prefer penderys for chiles. There blends are top notch as well.

    The Perfect Burger

I get lamb burger from my local butcher. He uses shoulder, and after grinding mixes in cubes of feta, rosemary, and salt & pepper. Amazing is all I can say. I love lamb, and this burger is the perfect expression of lamb without all the fuss and muss of cooking lamb on a weekday. I am not a burger traditionalist, and will put just about anything on a burger. My favorite beef combo is of course blue cheese and bacon, but also think that it would overpower the lamb.
  6. I am interested to know if someone has made mayo using just lecithin and no eggs to make the emulsion. I know some people that don't do eggs, and want to try this. Any ideas on where to start? and would I need something else, maybe mustard? Also would I use the lecithin granules or the liquid? this would also make it safer no? Thanks, Mike
  7. Thanks for the tips. I saw a video on how to make a green smoothie and decided to make one yesterday. A blender stuffed full of kale, some garlic, onion, and veg stock. WoW!!! that was the worst thing I have ever tasted, it literaly made me not hungry. There is a learning curve as to what and how much to put in there.
  8. I recently picked up a new Blendtec and have made a few smoothies. While that is fine, I want to try some soups and dips. Something to put this thing through its paces. I have searched here and did a google search, but didn't come up with much. So I ask, what are your favorite blender recipes? Thanks, Mike
  9. I have been making Jaymes' recipe for about a month now. The first two times I doubled the recipe, then a few single batches after. It has turned out great every time. Everyone at my work loves it too. Today I picked up a 6" deep steam table tray to make this recipe in. I should be able to do a triple recipe in there with plenty of room for stirring Thanks for the recipe. Mike
