  1. I second those thoughts regarding Houston's. When I lived in LA, I became a big fan and was very happy when they opened a branch in NYC. They make excellent drinks and the food is quite solid. Even in NYC, the dining capitol of the US, there is often a very significant wait for a table.
  2. re: Cite Grill. it hits a number of price points, inluding an excellent burger and, in my opinion, some of the best french fries in the city.
  3. Funny you should mention that. I had dinner in the Grill last night, which (along with the restaurant) serves some of the best french fries in NY. I noticed that the grill was offering the wine dinner as well and that the price was either ๆ.95 or ๋.95. I think the restaurant does it for ๋.95. In other words, it's (about) the same price. I believe that the 2 places share a common kitchen - the menus are quite similar with the grill offering a couple of cheaper alternatives. My conclusion is to stick with the restaurant, which is quieter, more civilized and, overall, more conducive to the nicer meal you are planning.
  4. Re: Mix Ins: Thomas Sweets in Princeton has been doing them since the mid 80's. Re: NYC Suggestions: I am a big fan of Cioo Bella. They have a branch in the Village and on 92nd and Madison.
