  1. Wow that is a seriously fantastic kitchen! I'm in serious envy! And it hasn't been re-muddled, which gives you the chance to restore what you can. In addition to Atomic Ranch, here are a couple of web sites that can help, if you haven't found them already: http://retrorenovation.com/ http://www.lottaliving.com/ These two, so far, are my favorite places to go for either inspiration or advice. The message boards on Lotta Living have some great folks with lots of knowledge regarding repairs and restorations.
  2. This is what I found: http://betacocktails.com/ Here's the quote from the site: "beta cocktails is the successor to rogue cocktails, a now-defunct cocktail guide that featured 40 unique and unusual recipes published in July of 2009. rogue cocktails is no longer available for purchase. beta cocktails will be released in the Summer of 2010." 3. Famous Grouse is my favorite Scotch for making a Blood and Sand. I have made it with Antica, and with Dolin Rouge. Different, but both good. I don't much like M&R vermouth, so I don't have it around to try. I did not like it with Luxardo (and I'm a fan of Luxardo), and I don't like it with any other cherry brandy but the Heering. Carol
  4. I mostly use nurse scrub tops for cooking. I buy them one size too large, and they fit over thinner shirts (I wouldn't wear them over a sweatshirt). NOTHING from the kitchen stains them. That's the point! They're also great for house cleaning, the ones I get have big pockets for stashing all the little things you find around the house that belong someplace else. While most scrub tops aren't very fashionable, unless Disney Prints are in fashion, this one Cheeta Scrub is pretty nice. In fact, a lot of them from that site are pretty nice looking. Carol

The freeze dried tomato powder sounded very interesting, and apparently, there's always an apocalypse just around the corner, so there are still lots of places putting dried food in #10 cans - survival foods. The last of the three is the most interesting - lots of single-item dried foods, in various packages, including the tomato powder in 1lb bags. I'm always using just a tablespoon or so of tomato paste, and end up wasting the excess. Be Prepared Survival Warehouse USA emergency supply Tolovana
