  1. If you've ever been to walden at the bargain books section then you can find these books that are 5.99. There is one of them called Japanese Cooking. Its a black and tan book. It tells everything you need to know about Japanese cooking.
  2. Well I don't know if this helps much but you can freeze fresh herbs, grits, dehydrated herbs, cheese. Thats all I know can freeze right now. Hope that helps.
  3. I am going to a culinary program. And you have to balance everything. Between presentation , taste, and preparation. Three sides of a triangle eh? Ive learned that you want a pleasing dish to the eye but the overall flavor, "taste" of the food is important well. To be honest I believe that if you balance all 3 or 2 in your case then you will have a pleasing meal. Hope that helped.
  4. Ive never had Natto but I did watch the show where they did have it on there. It looked gross to me at first but all they did with it. It was interesting.
  5. I think we all like alton. He is very funny. And makes food fun. I thoroughly enjoy his shows. Along with Iron Chef, Hot of the Grill, East meets West and Planet Food. (Im still waiting for the asian countries to be done). But I do think that they could make food network alot better. Oh and one of you mentioned two fat ladies. One of them died unfortunately. 6. Well I have to agree with you on that one. Im in a cooking program which starts back august 27. Well last year when i started it I had no idea what it was like working in that enviroment. We did have practicum which placed us in a restaurant or hospital. I learned quickly what it was like to work in that enviroment. And no class can prepare you for that. Serenity Hutchinson
  7. Wow! What detail in your report. Im going to cooking school in fall. My second year. Please keep posted. Serenity Hutchinson
