  1. Grub St. reported on a NY Sun piece a while back that said that he left to be a part of Ed Brown's new place, Eighty One-- Grub St Link
  2. Tennessee Mountain? Maybe with a time machine you can check it out again. Someone upthread mentioned that they've been closed for awhile. ← I went there once, not long before it closed. I ordered and enjoyed the beef ribs, but most 'cue reviewers pooh-poohed the place. ← I thought it was dreadful the last time I was there, which was not long before they closed. The ribs were poorly trimmed and poorly cooked and the sauce had a realy nasty bitter flavor. I'll say one thing about cooking sausages-- because of the temperatures at which barbecue tends to be cooked, the casings will usually become tough or rubbery which makes it tough to bite through cleanly. Also, ensuring that there is enough meat (instead of fat) in the mix to avoid a collapsed, wrinkled sausage. Cooking them in a smoker is way different than grilling or other methods. Not saying it is high art or anything, but there are some possible complications.
  3. Across from Della Femina was Taste of Italy, which is now something else. Further up that street was Mary Jane's which is now becoming a bank. And then, further up is Nick and Toni's. I'm sure there's fine food to be had at Nick and Toni and Della Femina, but they are both too star-studded and sceney for our tastes.
  4. We are out there alot and generally avoid dealing with the scene, traffic or crowds and just cook at home, but if by chance you want some trad, wood smoked barbecue while you're out there, drop me a note to let me know.....I won't bash anyone, but I would skip the restaurant 'que options available in or near the Hamptons....
  5. We love this place, too. Like many others probably, discovered it after not being able to get into New Green Bo. Recent favorites were the pork w/ rice cake and the pork fried dumplings. Everyone else at the table raved about the pork and crab dumplings, but I didn't try any of them.
  6. Don't judge their brisket until you try the moist. The flats are great, too, but the point is where it's at.
