  1. I'm in Calgary and looking for almond-flavoured rice milk. I used to drink it all the time in Italy; it was a staple in every Italian health food shop. I've never seen it in Canada - has anyone?
  2. I vote for Trianon... I used to deliberately schedule train stopovers in Naples around the dinner hour just to visit. I would usually try to get there right when they opened in order to be one of the first few people served. Their Mozzarella DOC puts every other pizza I have ever eaten to shame.
  3. Buffalo mozzarella, preferably fresh off the farm in the south. And, in one of the best/worst cheese experiences of all time, buying a big "scoop" of fresh sweet gorgonzola from a cart beside the road near Torre Pellice and everyone scooping it up with their fingers. After we all just took a pee break beside the road behind a rock.
  4. For future reference I would definitely suggest the Testa Nero gelato from a bar called Testa. It's their signature item- gelato made from chocolate so dark it's almost black in color. If my memory serves me correctly Testa is on Corso Re Umbreto, three blocks south of Corso Stati Uniti.
  5. Savoia is quite a good value for traditional Piemontese cuisine. They can also do vegetarian menus with advance notice. It's near Piazza Savoia (surprise) and can be reached by foot from the center or Porta Nuova quite easily. Obviously there are the "big names" in Torinese restaurants like Del Cambio and Tre Galline, but as a vegetarian they never really appealed to me.
