    Fresh fava beans

green beans would taste very differnt from the dry ones. i don't know, i would probably enjoy it but my brain would keep telling me, where's the real foul? and would the green beans breakdown like the dry ones? i have seen green bean salad done like that. cook beans (after peeling of course) lightly, cool down, mix in garlic, salt, lemon olive oil and parsley. yummy but definitely NOT foul.

    Fresh fava beans

i usually just peel and eat them. yummy. just remember to peel twice, teh green part, and the white membrany stuff. another thing to do with them is use them instead of peas in your favorite rice dish (paella, jambalaya, rice pilaf...)
  3. i used to eat a lot at the mountpleasant neighbourhood house in Vancouver. their program is for seniors AND moms with small babies. It was the one meal a week i could eat with both hands when my baby was small. The seniors were amazing at keeping my kid entertained while i ate. Anyways, i digress. You would not imagine what healthy fare the cook there whipped up week after week. Amazing Salads the likes of which i had never tasted (lupini???). Soups that had combinations of ingredients i had never tasted before. Wonderful desserts that i thought some people won't even want to try (beet chocolate cake, anyone?). well, you know what? once the chef established herself, everyone was not only eating whatever she suggested but going back for seconds. Just show them you can cook and in a few weeks, they will be happy to try your new dishes
  4. i took prenatal vitamins for several years BEFORE i got pregnant as recommended by the WHO. They recommend that all women of childbearing age take vitamins especially folic acid all the time, just in case. It was a good thing too. The moment i got pregnant i lost the abiltiy to eat. I lost 10 pounds the first trimester and my total weight gain for the whole 8 month i was pregnant was 14 pounds. They usually recommend that you gain 20-30lbs.
  5. I put chips and fries IN my sandwich. mmmmm potatos & bread .
