  1. Your posts are so helpful as to what i can expect ( only 22 days)! I have one question: How much time do you get to prepare lunch? Good Luck on your exam! chefchelle
  2. Great Job so far Malawry! I have to wonder though if this is a good thing for me to read or not, seeing as I am starting school in a little over a month. This makes me realize I really don't know a lot. Everytime I read your entries I get more and more nervous, I try to think of a way to better prepare myself by seeing what you are going through and I have no idea how to!! Anyways keep up the good job and good luck in the weeks to come. Chefchelle
  3. WOW! There are alot helpful replies that i will definatly have to print up and take with me. I am very surprised the food in bar harbor is only so-so and to get a good lobster i would have to go to the outskirts so to speak. We are definatly going to hike hard, also we will be white water rafting up in Millinocket and hiking Mt Katahdin. Hope everyone had a great 4th! Thanks again for everyone's feedback. Michelle
  4. Thanks for the info Jaybee. i have a feeling that we will probably end up winging it. Michelle
  5. Thanks for the input. I guess i am looking for some local places more than the high priced restuarants. I saw on tv before where you can go the dock, pick the lobster, and have cooked right there for you. That is what i am interested in finding. Michelle
  6. I will be traveling to Maine in August and was wondering if anyone could recommand some good restuarants to eat at. I Will be in the Millinocket Area for a couple of days and also in the Bar Harbor area a couple of days. Any input will be helpful. Michelle
  7. can't wait to hear how the 1st day went. This way i will atleast have some idea as to how school is going to go. Good Luck!! chefchelle
  8. Thanks to all for the warm welcome. My main aspiration is to be the best. I want to be bigger than Emeril, Mario and Martha ! I would one day like to own my own restaurant up in New England. I think seafood has endless possibilities. Michelle
  9. Malawry- I am also starting Culinary School, but i am going to the Le Cordon Bleu Orlando Culinary Academy in August. I am very interested to get a sneek peek at what life will be like. On the subject of pre-reading, my president suggested Larousse Gastronomique (not sure of the spelling). Can't wait to start hearing about your school. Good Luck! Michelle
