  1. I'm in Oakland now, and will be here for pretty much the rest of the month. I've only specifically been out to dinner once. (been grazing and just buying stuff at the grocery store to eat). Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of good places to eat that are still not too expensive. I've been being quite a homebody the past few days and would really like to go out and have dinner out the rest of this week. (Would be really nice if it was near College Ave. too, because then I could easily find my way there without getting lost lol)
  2. None of my friends remembered . One of them said they thought it was italian not french ahwell...I'm about ready to give up though. Thanks for trying to help remember.
  3. It was a few blocks away from fifth ave., but we walked there from fifth ave. and I think it was east of fifth. ...something like that. I'm going to email my friends in NY and see if they remember what street it was on or anything.
  4. The interior was quite small. They had booths around next to the walls. I think it had an awning outside. There was a mirror on one of the walls perpindicular to the door...like when you walked in if you looked to the left you'd see the mirror on that wall. For some reason I remember the mirror. I was looking at the mirror and watching the people who were sitting in a corner lol. I also think the floors and whatnot were hardwood floors. It was kinda dark inside...but there were windows at the front next to the door.
  5. One of the many times I was in NY I went to this little french restaurant. The owners were french and the food was pretty good. The thing is I can't remember the name of it or where exactly it was. I think it was off of 5th ave. somewhere...I don't exactly remember. But I've been trying to remember the name of this place and can't and it's been bugging me. I know this is a totally vague discription of the place, but does anyone know what restaurant I'm talking about? It's just totally been bugging me that I can't remember the name of it.
  6. lol Scottie Lobster Sundae's That's a nice image. Lobster and ice cream...I wonder what that tastes like. I do know that wasabi and ice cream actually tastes somewhat decent (though it did give me a stomach ach that lasted 2 days ). Wasabi is good. some more names... Anchove's bar and grill ...I can't think of any others. Maybe I will later.
  7. You know, when I went back and reread my post, I didn't think the spinach thing was all that funny anymore. It was kindof stupid. I had another idea earlier when I was randomly thinking about acronyms(sp?) and eating a slightly funky tasting bagel. The T.T.F. restaurant (This Tastes Funky) Thats also very lame, and again one of those things that only seemed to be funny the first time I thought of it.
  8. I went to one of those random band name generator websites to get some ideas. The Crippling Hunger Diner Polyester World (I just couldn't resist this one. It sounds a bit like a Chuck E. Cheese kind of place. I bet I'd be the big dork that I am and actually go to this place of my own free will.) Sucky Bucket Cafe John Johnson's Sickly Spinach Restaurant (Oh come on, you know the whole 'spinach makes you sick now' thing was a total scam from the carot industry.) Floppy Lodge (Ski, snowboard, throw snow balls at your neighbor, eat...uh...snow?) The Pure Place (OMG...Where everything is PURE! LOL I don't even know what I'm talking about anymore.) The Yucky Human Cafe (No humans allowed.) The Spinach Spot Hot Spot (I don't know why, but I just like the spinach ones. I find spinach funny, and I don't know why.) Mkay, I'm done. Those are all really lame, I know. I couldn't figure out how to use this as a restaurant name, but at one point the band name generator gave me Vegetable Spinach. I just thought that was funny. --Ciao --Jai (P.S. I plugged in the word 'goat' just for kicks. One was "Goat Sadness." I like that one. That is totally the new name of my band.) EDIT: Dude, this thread is a few months away afrom being two years old. I don't care. I like this thread. Very funny.
