  1. My version of Black-n-black (Guinness and blackberry brandy): Guinness milk chocolate ice cream with blackberry sauce. Sweet and tart!
  2. A couple of years ago, I made a chocolate stout cake (Epicurious, Bon Appetit, 2002) with amazing results. It did have a chocolate ganache, no cream cheese frosting. The beer (I used Guinness) really intensified the chocolate (similar to adding espresso to a chocolate recipe) with no overbearing beer favor.
  3. While out for a late night puppy walk, I stumbled on the soft opening of Branzino, (on 2nd in Belltown). East coast chef, the staff waxed poetic on the pulpo and house made sausage. Opening Tuesday.
  4. Did anyone save this recipe from the blog 'floatingnib'? I tried this last summer and it was fantastic but only bookmarked the website and now the blog is no longer available! Help!! This was _amazing_ banana bread!! Thanks!
  5. This is my first summer pickling and I have been using a book called "The Joy of Pickling" by Linda Ziedrich. One problem....I used the recipe for pickled jalapenos and forgot the olive oil....Ooops! I researched on the Internet and discovered some recipes do not require olive oil so I am assuming that I am okay but does anyone know what olive oil contributes? taste? texture? depth?
