  1. We did take out at Thai Thai on Sat. It was packed!!! (Very similiar to Tony's) The food was great, in fact, some of of our dishes were even a little more flavorful....BUT...How to describe. The loss is the home town feeling when you walk in, and everyone recognizes you and your children....I am sure that this happens all the time at other restaurants, but a first for us. Great restauraunt, I think the new chef is SAM, but funny, as I was asking questions, so many others waiting joined in.... Learning....Good food is great! But it is hard to transfer to new owners the feeling of being welcomed and feeling like part of the family We will be back. The food was great. Just doesn't have the Tony touch....
  2. I am not a sweets eater, so have not gone. HOWEVER, around Valentines Day and Easter, the place is packed!!! Rte 202 is backed up, with people trying to get into the parking lot. (Especially after work!) Regards, Barb

    Feeding Baby

HOW FUN!!! I made all of the food for both of my children.... I found a great book that was extremelly helpful, "The healthy baby meal planner" by annabel Karmel. It was not too granola crunchy and provided some great tips/advise. With our second child, I tried to find ways of including our oldest as well as making it a fun, learning experience. On Sunday of each week, our oldest and I would go to the store and select the vegies/fruits that we would make for our her brother/ (She had a blast!...Although, she did suggest more than once that he would like onions and garlic!) I would highly encourage you to make the food! It is a great learning experience for your older child, saves money and most importantly...I really believe it exposes them to a variety of different tastes and textures. I feel confident telling you that my oldest was the first person (probably only!) in her daycare that enjoyed watercress/potatoe/apple puree.!! (The teachers/caregivers were always amused!!) Regards, Barb
  4. Hi Kathy, In an earlier post (#21)...I referenced that I heard a rumor re: a Thai restaurant opening in Dewey Meadows (King George Rd)...I was wrong, it is "Flames Seafood and Grill" I think it opened this weekend. Just wanted to clarify. Thanks for your comparison of Thai House vs. Thai Thai. Regards, Barb
  5. Interested in anyone opinions/experiences with the Tyler Place in Vermont. It is an all inclusive vacation place. Was hoping someone is familiar with it....Is the food good? Not looking for chicken fingers for a week!! Thanks in advance Regards, Barb
  6. Kathy, I only have done take out there. BUT, I have more than once asked for them to prepare something that is on "Thai Thai" menu that is not on theirs. They are very accomodating. I am sure if there is something specific you are looking for, he has the skill set, ability and ambition to make it. I got the feeling he was trying to decrease the amount of items on the menu so it wasn't so overwelming for the patrons. As a side note, I heard a rumor that there is a Thai restaurant moving into the Basking Ridge/Warren A&P Area...Dewey Meadows. I have not yet been able to confirm...The rumor was that it was the same owner of Thai House...Will keep you posted if I learn more. Regards, Barb
  7. FYI...The Thai place mentioned above in Warren (I have to figure out the quote thing...I am still new!) The owner of the Warren Restaurant was one of the original waiters at Tony's when he first opened. He uses alot of the same recipes that are from Tony's. Regards, Barb
  8. We have enjoyed Grill 73 in Bernardsville. It is BYO and a nice menu. Not exactly quiet, but a fun, lively environment, with good food! Regards, Barb
  9. Hi everyone! This is my first post, I have been lurking for some time. I was very busy during thanksgiving, between vacation as well as hosting 35 people on turkey day. I just saw this post and am so upset!! We have gone to Thai Thai for many years! So sorry that Tony is no longer there. Obviously this means that Sue (His niece) is not there also. The interesting thing is that on Tues prior to Thanksgiving, I was so tired of cooking that we did takeout there. The order was different. The Yum cu Chin (Spelled wrong) did look different, as well as the beef masaman. I agree with the others that what made Thai Thai fun was not only the great food, but also the special attention that paid to their guests... So Sad...Any ideas where he is in Old Bridge? Too far for us, but perhaps if we are in the area... Kind Regards, Barb
