Hello all, Heading to Baltimore in a couple weeks. Need to take friends of a relative out for a "thank you" dinner...something nice that would be a treat for locals. Don't really know them that well, but they like to keep things as casual and comfy as possible. They're taking us to Angelino's for crab cakes one night. So maybe something completely different for the next night? Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks! Edit: caught a typo...

Thanks for the suggestions! Never thought about going to a cooking class. The few I've seen around here are all skewed towards baking...the one thing that I *can* handle in a kitchen. LOL

Digging up an old thread.... Since more than a year has passed since the last post on this, have there been any "must have" cookbooks for a complete newbie (that would be me) to the kitchen? How to Cook Everything & Joy of Cooking seem to be the two staples. Anything else? Didn't see another thread quite like this one, but if I missed it, I certainly would appreciate being pointed in the right direction! Thanks!
