  1. Re; Georgetown being a generally bad place to eat, I'm not so sure... There are good places on the East side of G'town - those southeast Asian spots on M near 27th are pretty serviceable, I think. Has anyone tried mama-san, the place that is owned by the Japan Inn people? Worst meal in DC: Sake Club. Our waitress was stoned and couldn't bring us our food. Seriously. Physically unable to pull it together. Eventually, someone else recognized what was going on and picked up our table. I hope they fired her.
  2. Well said. I was just talking that place up to my co-workers as well - every time, it makes me happy to eat there. Except for the tea, which is not their fault, but it is undrinkably bad.
  3. Tyler Cowen... does the guy ever even bother to come into the district? Maybe it's just that I actually live in the city, but I feel like the "DC-area" often seems to get far more press than the city itself!
  4. Yeah, it's pretty bad. you know who has GREAT sushi (very surprisingly?) Sushi Go Round, right next to the MCI center.
  5. I will second the post calling the Corduroy softshells the best they've ever had - I got softshells there during restaurant week and I was absolutely blown away. In fact, I can't give you a good reason why I'm not there eating them right now.
  6. I rather like Riedel's up on Conn. Ave near the UDC metro. Pretty tasty pulled pork, and there are four styles of sauces (KC, Memphis, North Carolina, and one other I can't think of right now) to choose from. Reasonably well-priced - actually, scrap that, considering the fact that it's a nice looking sit-down restaurant (the kind you wouldn't be ashamed to take your parents or a date to), it's dirt cheap.
