  1. Really, really like Pama pomegranite liquer! It just takes so sublime! My friend randomly started to mix it with other drinks, and it doesn't seem to come off strong or weird. I particularly liked the mix involving 1/4 cup Pama, 1/2 cup lemon/lime soda, 1/4 cup strawberry juice.java script:emoticon(':raz:')
  2. Hmm...I was in third grade and all I wanted to read was cookbooks. I began collecting recipes from the LA times, saving money for recipe collections, and watching cooking shows when I was 8 or so. Ah...I still continue to this day. ^^
  3. Wow. Can't really say a top five since I haven't had a chance to really explore much of the Chicago restaurant scene. But I truly enjoyed dining at: 1. The Lobby at the Peninsula Hotel (Chocolate Bar and Shanghai Terrace) 2. Morton's Steakhouse 3. La Creperie 4. Lao Sze Chuan I'm guessing the list might change. Now that I can drive around the city...I'll def be checking out more restaurants!
  4. I've been attending college here in Chicago for almost a year and a half now, and have yet to visit the many great restaurants! But if I could go to different restaurants this year, my wish list would include: Avenues Scylla Hot Chocolate Moto Banana Moon There are other restaurants, but that's all I can think of as of now.
  5. Well, I'm still relatively new to the Chicago restaurant scene. And I've heard so many wonderful reviews for Opera and Red Light. So hard to choose! But if the offers still going on, I guess I should sign up!
  6. I'm from Los Angeles, so the sushi scene is wonderful! And I'm somewhat picky about the sushi/sashimi I eat. I also enjoy kaiseki dinners, so it's exciting to know that there are a lot of these restuarants popping up around Chicago. My experience with sushi in Chicago is mixed at best. Thankfully, these restaurants are changing my perception for the better.
  7. I agree with puppychao. Loteria Grill is awesome, especially on a budget.
  8. Hey! It's awesome that you'll be trying out Korean restaurants across LA because the network is HUGE. Anywho, here's a few places to try out: 1. Seoul Garden - The best shabu shabu in town! You can also try their version of roast beef (ros gui). At the end of the meal, servers will then use the remnants of broth or meat, add rice, sesame seed oil, vegetables, etc. to make you either rice porridge (from the shabu shabu) or fried rice (from the ros gui). 1833 W Olympic Blvd 2. Shik Do Rak - It was a sort of trend to serve grilled beef and scallions with a flat sheet of rice cake called dukk po ssam. It's really, really delicious. If that's not your kind of thing, then there's always lettuce leaves. 2501 W Olympic Blvd 3. Chosun Galbi - If you want to go to a more upscale Korean restaurant, maybe this is the place to try. Their cha dul bae gi is especially tasted when topped with marinated scallions and wrapped in lettuce. 3330 W. Olympic Blvd. 4. Woo Lae Oak - This is definitely the trendy upscale Korean restaurant. Though it's on the expensive side, it's very good. The galbi jjim was my fave. 170 N La Cienega Blvd There's a lot of restaurants on particular streets like Western, Olympic, Normandie, 3rd Street, etc. Typically, these are the Koreatown area streets, so if you drive around there, you'll find restaurants.
