  1. It's mostly repetition anyway. It's a dreadful cheap bit of television. I was thinking I'll just watch the Friday bit next week but I'm not sure I could even stand that.
  2. Air dry some, just by dangling them indoors somewhere. I tie them to the laundry rack in our utility room. Freeze the rest. Both methods allow you to use small amounts which is helpful with habaneros (I have some nagas and I defy anyone to use a whole one at once). Use a big heavy knife to crumble a few bits from a frozen one and put the rest of it straight back in the freezer. The dried ones can be crumbled into a jar after a few weeks (although probably much sooner if you live anywhere other than the damp UK).
  3. I don't think anybody else has mentioned this but their mag "Waitrose Food Illustrated" is well worth picking up when you're in there. I'm not close enough to my nearest Waitrose so I've actually subscribed to get it delivered but it's free to shoppers with John Lewis or Waitrose cards. Superb photography, Sophie Grigson recipes, Emma Dibben's illustrations, all very classy.
  4. ain't t'internet fantastic. This page says tung oil has FDA approval for food contact, Tung oil is not poisonous so - no need to be careful with it!!!
  5. I ordered a ceramic knife from Hawaii last year. It is a zirconium carbide knife and it cost US$54.99. Something similar might have cost £130 from The Japanese Knife Co in London so I thought it a very good deal. I was happy with the shipping charge of US$27.00 as it is a long way away but I was surprised by the customs duty of £7.67, VAT of £9.01 and a clearance fee of £13.50. Does this always happen when ordering stuff from far off places or was I scammed by her maj's Customs and Excise boys?
