  1. hit PlumpJack Cafe on Fillmore, especially if lots of well priced wine is an issue!
  2. mike, for a unique beautiful meal go to Burma Superstar on Clement st right around 4th and 6th streets. the food is unique, delicate and powerful. Semi "hole-in-the-wall" always a 20 minute wait but worth checking out. I have worked in the city for the past 8 years at a top 100 restaurant in the city. While there is much to check out for a couple of day visit, cutting edge only lasts for a month or so.

    cherries are big and sweet in northern california right now. using them in a compote wh foie gras and with a duck demi glace in a duck dish is fun.

    robert, anything from Domaine Weinbach, Tokay pinot gris, Shlossberg Reisling, or their gewurtz. Beautiful, creamy, sweet
