  1. I too am about to go to Quebec City for a few nights, this weekend, and would LOVE any updates on the restaurant scene there. We are especially hoping to find two or three good lunch spots, a couple of great bistros for dinner and one special restaurant with exceptional food, where I can take my husband for his birthday dinner. Thank you for any and all suggestions!!
  2. We are now back from a great trip to Mykonos and ate at some fantastic restaurants. Standouts that I would recommend to anyone planning a trip to the island are - 1. Kiki's Tavern for lunch (no phones, no electricity, no reservations), food is grilled on an open charcoal grill and you eat at little tables in a courtyard under a huge tree. There are a selection of salads that you choose from on the inside, as well as appetisers and main courses selected from the menu. Our group of six are all still talking about the pork chop that we had. Amazing!!! 2. Bakalo - Here we were a large group and we ordered dozens of starters and small plates. All fabulous! The rose essence pudding was a delicious dessert standout. 3. Roca Cookery - Very simple menu made with great, quality ingredients, beautifully prepared. Also has a beautiful view of the harbor. For drinks, though they are pricey, definitely recommend hitting Little Venice for sunset drinks at either Caprice or Scarpa. Really fun locations to watch the sunset, while listening to fun music and sipping expensive mojitos and the like.
  3. Hello, We are headed to Mykonos for about a week and would love any input on great spots to eat. We are open to anything from casual to fancy, breakfast, lunch, or dinner - just good food! It looks like there weren't any recs for Mykonos since 2008 on the forum, so I thought I should try for more current suggestions. Thank you, in advance, for any suggestions. They are greatly appreciated!
  4. Hello, I have some wonderful restaurant recs to share for Lucca, Vorno, and Santa Margherita Ligure if anyone is planning to head out that direction. The restaurants ranged from basic menus but with exceptionally fresh ingredients to highly creative menus, using local ingredients but getting away from the usual preparations. I will post the full names, addresses, etc. as soon as I return to the US. In the mean time, I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations in Bellagio, Lake Como. I have been trying to use the search feature, but the internet cafe computer I am typing from will have none of it. Any suggestions for restaurants will be greatly appreciated. They certainly don't have to be the fanciest, just good quality food. Grazie!
  5. Hello, I have been searching through the archives, but so far haven't found any specific restaurant recommendations for Fiesole, Lucca or Vorno. Does anybody have any suggestions? We have had some spectacular meals in Florence (Trattoria Mario for Lunch and Cantina Barbagiani for dinner were highlights). We are going to head out of town on Sunday and are looking to stop for lunch in Fiesole. (We're hoping there will be a decent amount of restaurants open for lunch on Sunday) then we are looking for any great lunch and/or dinner recs for Lucca and Vorno. Thanks very much for your suggestions!
  6. Fantastic, thank you very much! We will definitely make a reservation there.
  7. If I may piggyback on this post (it would be a bit repetitive to create a new thread for this), I am also going to be in Brazil in March, in Salvador as well, and additionally to Sao Paulo. I would love any restaurant recommendations anyone has for Sao Paulo, as well as Salvador, as the previous poster requested. Thank you!
