  11. check out Sensi at the Bellagio...wide variety of cuisine...Ducasse complimented that chef as one to watch ← Eliot, were you talking with Ducasse or did you read it somewhere? What else did he say? BTW I second Sensi. Four different cuisines, an open kitchen in the center and a water-themed decor. And if anyone wants dessert, J-P Maury Patisserie at the Bellagio ... ← There was an article on Bloomberg...if you search it then it will come up.
  12. check out Sensi at the Bellagio...wide variety of cuisine...Ducasse complimented that chef as one to watch

  14. I agree with the grilled calamari. I had a plate on my second visit. Where do you think he sources his fresh calamari? It is quite tender. On my second visit, he had specials on the white board but $20 for roasted chicken? I thought his pricing was quite outrageous. When will the suckling pig be served? I need to get my share of that. ← He is treating the restaurant like his own supper club at dinnertime, cooking some dishes that he used to feature at Lecabaffi and the pricing is reflects that. Last night whole roasted sea bass for $28 but it was delicious and of a quality not served at most restaurants. At dinnertime, he has a crowd of regulars that have been with him for years and pay for his quality.
  15. First off, I had the marinated grilled calamari and it was great! The big news is that Saturday December 15 from 9am - 9pm, the Christmas bash is going on at Andreoli: Christmas Menu he told me that there are a couple more addtions to the menu but I can only remember one because after he mentioned whole roasted suckling pig all I could think of was crispy skin.

  17. We are staying at the Legacy Golf Resort on S. 32nd St between E. Southern Ave and E. Baseline Rd; I think it's pretty close to the airport. How far is a drive into Scottsdale? There seems to be a lot of choices there. Binkley's menu looks good with great fish selection which I love. I have also looked at the pictures of all the meals you had at See Saw, molto e...I am drooling just thinking about them. Greasewood Flat looks interesting. The kids will love the open space and a different dining experience. Please keep the suggestions coming. I am complying a list to bring so we can go to a recommended place wherever we happen to be. Thanks again. ← you are so close to the Farm at South Mountain with the kids the breakfast, lunch spots there are a no brainer and not to overkill it but Quiessence for a nice dinner could work very well...Binkley's rocks but you are completely on the other side of town...Kai at the Sheraton Wildhorse Pass is very close...if the photos of Sea Saw do it for then you should end your search there-it is without question one of the finest restaurants that I have ever dined it...be sure to request the Omakase when you make a reservation and if you are really into that style ask for the premium Omakase-you should read Ronnie Suburban's post on his first meal at Sea Saw, he nails the experience on the head and he has had a couple good meals in his life
  18. that is disappointing but perhaps something was off cause I never have had issue with the amount of seasoning on the frites
  19. Bianco does not do to-go pizzas...you will get a table at Lo-Lo's and even if there is a wait it moves fast...the Farm Kitchen serves lunch and on a nice day is a fantastic choice, you place your order and grab a table (outdoor seating) and they bring your food (soup, salad, sandiwiches)...kid friendly choices-chelsea's kitchen, La Grande Orange Pizzeria with Arlecchino Gelateria next door (must get gelato there)...great dinner-Binkley's or Sea Saw/ what part of town will you be staying in may influence that choice
  20. check out China King or Tao Garden to see if they serve that
  21. 2 stars in your book is pretty damn good Doc...Chef Siegel is at the top of my list of chefs that I have not tried yet. I must say it looks fantastic on many levels...jealous, jealous
  22. November 16, 2007 From the Arizona Republic: Union Wine Bar & Grill...Food Critic Howard Seftel reviews the new offering from the folks at Ranco Pinot Grill, a soon not to be solely a small plates concept...Union Wine Bar & Grill. I agree with this assesment from Howard as I have eaten there a bunch of times,"There wasn't a flat-out loser in the bunch, although, to be honest, nothing totally knocked me out. Noshing Around with Karyn Zolden...Karyn Zolden checks in with the culinary goings on in the Old Pueblo. Good Eating, Molto E
  23. Yeah, our server was pretty green and some of the plates looked a bit manhandled by the time they got to us, but this really didn't contribute to my overall dissatisfaction (unless our server was responsible for the "sittin' around" look my pork had). ← Unfortunately Sundays at some places the "A' team may not be working, that is not a valid excuse by any means but a reality in a 7 day a week lunch and dinner restaurant. There are a great number of servers that have been working at Zinc for quite a number of years and I find those servers to be great, but with the luck of the draw sometimes you can get a "newbie".
  24. oh my bad. the lady slathered tons of mayo on my dogs. I could still feel my arteries palpitating. ← good
