  1. Best Traditional Sushi: Sushi Yasuda Best Non-Traditional Sushi: Sushi Seki Best Omakase: Kuruma Zushi Sushi Seki is open until 3AM everyday but Sunday which is a big plus in my eyes. To have a great meal you need to sit at the Sushi Bar(you need a reservation usually unless its late-night). They have many amazing things which are not on the menu. Ask for Chopped Toro Sushi, Spicy Scallop Handroll, Chopped Eel w/ Avocado Sushi, Yellowtail Sushi with Jalapeno, Snow Crab Handrolls, Snapper w/ Sea Salt. Ordering A-La-Carte is a much better value than ordering Omakase. As a side note, Seki is Chinese yet speaks Japanese and really cares about his food. Normally, I dont like Chinese sushi chefs but I make an exception for Seki. Sushi Yasuda wins for fish selection and overall authenticity. They are by far the most traditional and if a zen like traditional sushi meal is what you crave than Yasuda is for you. Though I must admit that I found the chef to be quite stubborn and crass at times. While I have been to Japan many times and am fully aware of traditional eating customs I was 'scolded' by the chef for mixing a bit of wasabi into my soy sauce. So much for the quote on their website that reads "There is no right or wrong way to eat sushi — the important thing is to enjoy your meal.". That being said, I will continue to return to Yasuda regularly. Kuruma Zushi is a very intimate and also quite authentic as well. If you are prepared to spend big bucks and are the type to plan a meal and make reservations in advance than Kuruma might just be the place for you. Its an Omakase meal there and you are guaranteed to get lots of personal attention. Im more of a spontaneous/eat & run type so the previous two places are more my style.
  2. Hooters has great wings as well. Atomic wings is still the best but if you go to Hooters and order them extra crispy with the three mile island sauce you will be happy.
  3. Yah I went twice a week for almost 4 months, going to different ones almost every time! Some places, I went to twice. There are a few places that seemed more like mouge type places that had blacked out windows that I did not make it into. Maybe a hidden jewel lies in one of them? BTW stay away from the late night Pho Spot on S. Tacoma way.
  4. Thanks a lot for the tip. I'll make my way down to both places soon.
  5. I've been to EVERY Korean place on S. Tacoma Way and none of them are very good. I cant remember the name but one place has pretty good kimchi soup. Ezell's on Pacific Ave. and 72nd(still open) is OK(good spicy fried chicken) but not very nice inside. Ezell's on 6th Ave. suffers from really bad and slow service and they just dont have it together. 30 minutes for 3 pieces Chicken that was already cooked when I ordered it is UNACCEPTABLE. Vuelve a la Vida on Pacific ave has very good tamales and has a really good Enchiladas Suizas Plate with Guacamole , Rice, Beans and 6 OZ Steak for $8. Europa Bistro has nice food but service can be slow and its often cold in there. Pomodoro's is another place that is overrated and not very good. The Melting Pot is TERRIBLE. Primo Grill - Havent been yet. El Gaucho & Gary's Steakout- Havent been to either yet but both seem like a huge ripoff. Hooters- Annoying chain with bad food and bad service but they have pretty good hot wings if you order them like I do "Ten Wings, All Drums, Three Mile Island Sauce, Extra Crispy and Extra Saucy. Blue Cheese and Celery"
  6. I had one meal at Union which was the 3-course tasting menu for lunch. The food was awesome but the portions were not. I understand that it is only $20 and that YGWYPF but if you order A-La-Carte are the portions this dismal as well?
  7. Top Pot Doughnuts are the only decent food item at Starbucks.
  8. I called French Laundrya few months back and got a reservation for that same day. Problem is that they require men to wear jackets and I didnt have one with me. So I cancelled and said fuck it. Call me crazy but I shouldnt have to buy a new jacket to have a meal in Northern CA.
  9. The Palace Kitchen is currently my choice for late night eats. Anyoone else have any good reccomendations for me? I dislikee both Minnie's(bad food and bad service) and 13 Coins(not very good food and overpriced). The Flyish Fish is OK but has fallen off a bit lately.
  10. Salumi has great sandwiches and they are nice much of the time but dont any of you guys think that maybe Mario's success has gotten to Armandino's head? Im from NYC and I still find him to be pretentious and exclusionary.
  11. Heres my take on this place. Im from Brooklyn and I know pizza. I love DiFara's in Brooklyn and have been going there for years. My favorite Pizza in the world is in New Haven, CT at Sally's. Here are my complaints/comments about this dreadful place: 1)This place is overhyped and has a terrible attitude problem. 2)They dont keep normal hours- Any business that opens and closes as they wish wont be around for long. 3)The European style warm water bothers me but thats an insignifigant complaint. 4)They dont cut their Pizza or offer a suitable knife which is pretentious bullshit. 5)The Pizza is not allowed the correct amount of time to cool and the sauce can be soupy which leads to a sometimes soggy crust. 6)They dont do any substitutions and couldnt honor a simple request such as adding basil to one of my Pizzas. 7)Can you say OVERPRICED? My meal there wasnt terrible and everything tasted OK. Obviously, it sure beats the hell out of Domino's but i'll just hold out until im back home. Cafe Lago has a better attitude it seems. Tutta Bella's pizza sucks.
  12. So which restaurant has the best Thai food in WA State?. I've been to Mae Phim in Seattle and its pretty good. I also went to Typhoon which is a bit more upscale but overpriced and not really as tasty as Mae Phim. I just came back from Thailand and after having some really special meals there, im looking for the best Thai food there is. I know theres much better than Mae Phim to be had. Thanks guys.
