  1. Haven't been since the regime changed from French to Italian so can't say. Considering that you can pay up to £50 a head just for the food, its expensive for the very price conscious Brighton market who are used to two course lunches for £5.95. ← Coincidentally I sometimes end up parking outside One Paston Place as I'm working a couple of streets from there at present. Kambis is a favourite of mine and having tried the real Lebanese food in Beirut earlier this year, it does compare very well. I was treated to a birthday meal at Terre a Terre a couple of years, fantastic and for good fun, try Genghis Khan, the Mongolian BBQ place. BTW Andy Lynes, the same as used to post on the Beeb website?
  2. If you like Italian food, you can't beat Al Forno's in East Street.
  3. The problem with stock is that it's an ideal medium for encouraging pathogenic bacteria to multiply. Boil the remaining stock for 5 mins before refreezing it. that should take care of any pathogens.
  4. I teach food and Nutrition, occasionally I take a lesson for the French teacher, the pupils make, all in French, Croque-Monmsieur or Soupe a l'Oignon. I love doing the cross-curricular lessons, made Naan bread with a year 8 Geography class and planning on Jumblies with a year 8 history class for next term.
  5. I remember Brighton Market in the late 60's early 70's when, as an impoverished student, we would wait until last thing on Saturday to buy what was left dirt cheap. We do have a reasonable Farmer's Market in seaford on the third thursday in the month, East Dean has a good Farmer's Market every wednesday morning. Highlights are the Sussex Downs Lamb and the Sussex Cheeses. Fish, Newhaven is still the best, regrettably Rolf's, who had their own boat, closed down in Seaford over a year ago, but there are a couple of decent fish places down the quay at Newhaven. Nice to have joined you all, I remember Andy from the BBC Food forums!!
