I was making a mushroom sauce to go with a roasted chix dish. I was in a hurry and needed to thicken the sauce with a slurry and reached for the cornstarch. Unfortunately the cornstarch box closely resembled the box of baking soda that was also on the shelf. Let's just say it didn't turn out as expected.
At one Christmas dinner the well meaning mother of my first cousin made lasagna. The rest of the family agreed later ( after she had gone ) that apparently she had used no spices at all to season the sauce and better still she had used cottage cheese instead of ricotta.
Salt definitely Citrus ( lemon especially ) Hot sauce or hot peppers. I never could understand the idea behind making a dish were you can only taste BURNING
As in Guinness Stout? You put beer in the brownie batter? ← That's right. I don't the exact amount but I assume that you replace a portion of the liquid in the recipe with beer.
This may be considered unpalatable but it's great: Stout brownies topped with Thai-Pepper ice cream. Green tea ice cream is also an odd but yummy treat.
