  1. Candle 79. I have had consistently good meals there. Good date environment.
  2. I was totally disapointed with Bristol Farms Market. I went to pick up some prepared meals, and was actually grossed out by what I saw. Some items looked like they had been out for a week! Pair that with all the union members protesting Bristol Farms Market's labor practices, and I doubt I will ever be back. Oh, and the prices were really steep (especially for such seemingly low quality).
  3. Did you happen to notice if there was a vegetarian option? I have not had a chance to call and find out....
  4. I understand that they do not take reservations unless you have a party of 10 or more. Can anyone comment on how long the wait has been in their experience? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for all the posts so far! I will be staying at the Grande Colonial Hotel (910 Prospect Street). Keep the suggestions coming! Also, if anyone knows of any places that are especially vegetarian friendly, I would love to hear about it. Thanks again
  6. Hello, I will be in La Jolla in a couple weeks. I am staying in La Jolla Village and will not have a car. Can anybody suggest a place for dinner within walking distance? I like all types of food, so am most interested in the best La Jolla has to offer. No steak houses please! Thanks!
  7. Is there anybody out there with more recent dining experiences?
  8. Apparently Foreign Cinema has a kids menu. Has anyone taken kids there?
  9. Hello, I am looking for recommendations for places to eat in St Louis. Somewhere either within walking distance or easy public transit from the Convention Center would be ideal. I like ALL food, and am interested in the best St. Louis has to offer. Thanks!!!
  10. I had a great espresso at Cafe Regular on 11th St and 5th in Brooklyn. A friend told me that the owner is opening a Manhattan Outpost...
  11. I heard from a coworker that the Italian Food Center was sold, and that the offerings have changed, and are no longer as good. Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone been there recently?
  12. I second Chestnut! I am going on Friday.
  13. I was wondering if we could revive this topic... If anyone can share experiences bringing children to non-chain places in the SF, I would love to hear it. What great places have you tried with kids?
  14. I have a reservation. Thanks! In terms of a place to eat... It does not need to be within walking distance. Just in Berkeley will do!
  15. I will be visiting the Bay area this week. I am planning on going on the Schraffen Berger Chocolate factory tour on Sunday. First of all, is the tour worth it? Secondly, can anyone suggest any places nearby for Sunday Brunch or Lunch? Thanks!
  16. Any suggestions for an out of towner who has not experienced many SF restaurants?
  17. I would go to Craft and sit at the bar, rather then go to Craftbar. The food is MUCH better. Another idea is Casa Mono, which is small, intimate, and has a nice bar where you could eat.
