  1. Hello, A client of mine, knowing my fondness for German travel, food, and drink has asked me what is a must see and eat during an 8 hour layover in Frankfurt am Main. Outside of 1 hour I spent there on my way to Berlin, I don't have any current info. Does anyone out there have an opinion on what might be a must eat and see during the eight hours? Thanks, Mike
  2. The wife tells me that Aruffo's in Claremont (the village) is good Italian. A quick search on the web reveals some good press. Sorry I cannot make a more personal recommendation. Mike
  3. So you know, Travel Channel ran an almost full page ad for the Beruit show on the day if the show in the LA Times. This would probably steer a few industry-eyes to the show.
  4. Back in the day live tapeworms were sold for consumption for this very purpose.
  5. Tony's thoughts on Beruit: In print in Salon here. and in audio on "Weekend America" here. They both cover the same material; but I found Tony's additonal thoughts in the "Weekend America" piece resonant with my own. Mike
  6. Tony is quoted at DNA - World: "The embassy didn't answer the phone for a week. At the checkpoints, it was like a Metallica concert gone terribly wrong. It was a mob scene." US television chef Anthony Bourdain, aboard the USS Nashville. Find it here, about 2/3 the way down: http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?NewsID=1042914 Mike
  7. FYI: No Reservations DVD's: The New Zealand/Malaysia and Sicily/Las Vegas Episode dvds are on sale at $4.99 each. Check it out at: http://shopping.search.discovery.com/Disco...s&go.x=0&go.y=0 Also, Tony and the crew, our thoughts are with you. Please stay safe. foodie_mike
