  1. I have 3 knives that I got from Aritsugu in Kyoto that I would highly recommend. They stay razor sharp, and they were a steal for what I would pay for them in the U.S., where they are difficult to procure. Also, while there they told us that the Aritsugu dealer at Tsujiki Market was not the same knives, it is a member of the family that branched out.
  2. Walk over to Sixth and just before you get to Market you will see Tu Lan. Some of the best vietnamese you will have outside of Vietnam.
  3. Thank you for the recommendations. Had a great meal at Francis Mallman 1884...excellent suckling pig among many other delicious dishes. Went to a few of the mentioned wineries and some others, but if you get the chance I recommend Carmelo Patti strongly. Fantastic wine by a passionate man who makes what he likes to drink. Also we had lunch a great lunch at Ruca Malen.
  4. Just wanted to see if there were any more recent experiences in Mendoza. What wineries are a must to visit? Any other unmentioned great restaurants that are local haunts, not tourist destinations?
  5. The new chef at Campton Place is Peter Rudolph who was the chef of Navio at The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. I had 2 awesome meals at Navio, so when he gets settled in there I expect he could be hot in SF, can't wait to check out the new food. If anyone has been, let us know how it is and what's going on ?!?!
  6. I second every word. Phenomenal tacqueria worth travelling to no matter the distance.
  7. How dissapointing Can you be more specific about the changes? Did the hotel change as well? ← Entire Culinary team is gone. Hotel under contract with management company. Essentially everything is different other than the building.
  8. I would not reccomend Spiced Pear at this time. Many changes have come forth over the last few months, making it much different than it once was. Flo's is a must!
  9. Some BBQ places have great barbeque and others have great sides.....very few have both. For instance if you want the best cracklin' cornbread, go to Harold's over in SE Atlanta.
  10. Daddy D'z truly the best in the ATL, and I hunt for good BBQ
  11. RB2, I made my way there (PP and SR/Angkor) for 10 days or so, late last year... I'll see if I can get a few spots listed, and add a couple pics. Are you most interested in typical Cambodian food ... or any good food? I have to say, I drank pretty well there, too! ← I am most interested in typical Cambodian food, so any reccomendations that you have would be great. Thanks Kangarool!
  12. Any new updates on Cambodia as of late? I will going there in the near future and would love any insight into great local food in Ankgor, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville or anywhere in between. Thanks.

    Milk chocolate

I also believe that Valrhona Milk Chocolate taste great, but then again I generally don't prefer milk chocolate in general and haven't found any other brands that I particularly enjoy while I have tried many others.

    Beijing dining

Peking Duck is a must at Quanjude at their Qianmen location if nothing other than the history of it and the service is great. It is a bit expensive by local standards, but go and enjoy at least once, and then you can try the other Peking Duck joints around the city.
  15. Sweet Potato Ice Cream In general this is such a delicious starch it could be used for almost anything

    Piperade

I also had a meal there about 8 months ago and it was fantastic. I cannot wait to return next time I have the opportunity.
