  1. Be prepared for a wait in the check-out line. I was there at 1:00 pm yesterday, and waited more than 45 minutes. And this was with all lanes open, and less than 10 people in front of me.
  2. Herndon. 701 Elden Street. ← There is also a location in Chantilly near 50 and 28 and I saw one listed on the web in Vienna near Hunter Mill and Rt. 7, but can't for the life of me place where it is. ← The one in Vienna that I remember (but it's been 1+ years) is on Rt 123 South, past Tysons Corner Center, after you go over Rt 7. It would be on the left.
  3. I agree. I was hanging curtains the day before the due date of my first son. My water broke at 6:00 am the following morning.
  4. Last time I was there (a year or so ago), there was very limited seating. It got very crowded at lunchtime; a lot of carry-out orders.
  5. Hello, you've reach Restaurant Eve. Please listen carefully to the following options as our menu has changed. For reservations, press 1, for a description of today's specials, press 2, for directions, press three, for hours of operation, press 4, to complain about the food or service, please call 1-800-256-9633.* *Bonus points for those who can figure out the significance of the phone number. ←
  6. When I was about 11 or 12 years old, my version of the fluffernutter (which I swear I had to have at least 1 of every day after school) was made with grape jelly instead of the peanut butter. Haven't had one since, but I just may pick up a jar of fluff for the weekend!
  7. Isn't this a BEAUTIFUL day? I'm having clam chowder for lunch!!
  8. Thank you for this response. My almost 17-year old son also wants to become a chef, and is enrolled in the Chantilly Academy Culinary Arts course. I appreciate any information about this career, to pass on to him.
  9. I agree -- only been there a couple of times; the reputation of the place is the main draw. Like the dogs, too.
  10. You sure? They have one of those doughnut machines in the Dupont store (I was walking by yesterday, but didn't go in). In the Metro section of today's Post, there's a story about this store's opening. It says that, although the donuts are not baked on the premises, the hot glaze is applied there so that the donuts can be served hot.
  11. From Wegman's Menu Magazine (Summer 2004): 1 lime 20 fresh mint leaves 4 tsp superfine sugar 6 oz (3/4 cup) Bacardi Limon 1 bottle (1 liter) club soda crushed ice 1. Cut lime in 8 wedges; squeeze juice into pitcher. Add mint leaves, sugar, and lime rinds. 2. Muddle using muddler or back of large spoon. 3. Add limon and club soda; stir well. Serve over crushed ice in tall glasses. If desired, garnish with mint sprigs and sugar can sticks. Serves 4 They also have a Watermelon Mojito with 1 1/2 cups pureed seedless watermelon added to the lime juice, mint leaves 2 tsp sugar and lime rinds. This uses light rum (6 oz) instead of Bacardi Limon. YUM!
  12. If you get over by Galway, east on the N6 to Oranmore, there's a place I went to a few years back. It's called Paddy Burke's, and I remember enjoying the food/atmosphere very much. Have fun!
  13. Joining my 7 brothers and sisters (and husbands/wives/nephews/nieces/dogs) at my sister's place for ribs, pork, chicken, etc. Games for the kiddies, swimming and fireworks after dark!
