  1. 2003 Estancia Pinot Grigio California - Pale gold in color. The nose is fruity and floral, showing some lemon, pear, green apple, and some flowers. Flavors pretty much mimic the nose with the pear and green apple, but there is also a little bit of peach. A citrusy acidity, with a fruit-driven finish. A little more viscous on the tongue than an Italian Pinot Grigio, and not as crisp...you can tell it is from California. A very simple summer sipper. Jean
  2. 2002 Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha - Dark purple in color. Nose shows a lot of bright fruit in the way of blackberry and cherry, with some spice, and a hint of licorice. Flavors show more of the same, with blackberry and cherry, some tart plum, and some spice. The finish is juicy and a little spicy. The tannins are soft, and there is a decent bit of acidity, making it a nice wine for a variety of foods. Relatively simple, but very delicious. A nice way to spend $10. All the best, Jean

    My introduction

Nobody has ever accused me of being too quick, Brad! Thanks for the welcome, all! Jean
  4. Greetings, all. I thought I would take a second to say hello and introduce myself. I have been an occasional lurker here for ages and used to post extremely infrequently under the name "VinJean." I was recently reintroduced to this site, and look forward to participating more. I am a wine and food enthusiast located in Minnetonka, MN. I have been an active participant in the internet wine community, through which I have had the good pleasure of meeting people like Brad Ballinger, Schneier, and other locals who share similar passions. I see some familiar names here as well, so I hope you don't mind if I just dive right in and start posting! Thanks, and I look forward to talking to you all! Jean Brislance
