If you can get to Preston, you can get to Cartmel. Get train up to Grange-over-sands from Preston, and pick up a cab there. It only takes five minutes to get to L'Enclume from there

I had a 'crispy bacon sandwich' at the Wolseley for my breakfast the morning. I was surprised to get a roll, rather than white-sliced. Should i have been? By the way, i was offered HP or tomato ketchup. I chose the former.

Is the French House any good these days? It's a nice room, and I've always had good food there in the past. Don't know who current chef is though.
