  1. bigcat and Andrew, how are you two settling in to central PA? What places have you discovered?
  2. They definitely need at least one other commentator for Alton to talk to. That's one of the best parts of the original Iron Chef, and I couldn't watch Iron Chef America because I missed it so much.
  3. Actually Harrisburg is still swinging. Just visit Second Street any night of the week. Mr. Blister, are you a fellow Dickinson grad? I graduated from there in 1992. There's a lot of good places to eat in town, as I'm sure Andrew will discover.
  4. Welcome to central PA, bigcat and Andrew! I live in Carlisle, btw. Big fall festivals here include Kipona (Labor Day weekend) and the Adams County Apple Harvest Festival (first two weekends in October). There are many many other festivals in the area. To find out more about area restaurants, your best bet is probably The Central PA Dining Guide. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  5. That is hilarious. What does it say on the door of the truck? The food looked terrific!
  6. Roast chicken! I roast it at the right temperature, for the prescribed amount of time, take its temperature, take it out of the oven, let it rest, but when I cut into it between the breast and the drumstick, the meat is always disturbingly raw.
  7. Jenny, my parents live in NEPA (outside of Montrose) but when I go to see them I never stop to eat, since it's only a three hour drive from where I live now, so I have no info to contribute!
  8. 20 ft of counter space, magic old food evaporator in the fridge, tiny robot that blasts miller moths with a tiny death ray, and a devilled egg dispenser.
  9. I'm really enjoying this blog! Everything is plated so well, and I loved reading your prep plan. I have the picture of all the hanging baskets of flowers as my desktop picture now.
