  1. This is getting interesting folks. Don't stop now. Keep 'em coming. thanks
  2. How about the Ryland Inn. You have to request the fireplace. This table only seats two...perfect. Not much of a view at nightn view though. Bring big bucks.
  3. Folks, Anyone have a place or several places if they exist where the salads are good enough to make a meal out of them. An array of salads would be desireable not just one. thanks
  4. The problem is, in the state of New Jersey, It's an all or none situation. For example, in California, a separate on site service Beer and Wine License can be bought independly of a full service liquor license for around $600 (last time I checked) and are available at will (provided one is not a fellon and can show legally where the money is coming from to purchase it). In New Jersey, there is no separation or necessarily a distinction between the two. An so, if one is available, one buys the "Full" liquor license. Then of course, since one is paying $250,000 plus or minus for it, why just sell wine. As any restaurant will probably tell you, it's the "liquor" where the money is.
  5. I'm looking to go to a Rodizo place that has great meats and lobster and Sangaria, please provide some suggestions thanks
  6. Too many bean soups. I have few friends as it is.
  7. The sushi at Ixora in Whitehouse station was fabulously fresh and sweet. Especially the Hamachi which I find hard to come by "fresh" tasting. Pricey but what sushi isn't, if it's good. I know it's not a restaurant but I was incredibly impressed with the sushi from Wegmans market.
  8. The name Monster Sushi......... reminds me of a restaurant in San Francisco about 10 years ago called Godzilla Sushi. Godzilla was arguably popular. It closed down for some reason. Some said they wern't doing well. But no sooner did it close than many people were screaming for it's return and so, it did return to an even bigger fanfare than before.
  9. Arthur's.....Big, Fat, Lip-Smak'n, Sloppy, Tasty....and they cook 'em to order most times the way you want 'em.
  10. I've always liked the outdoor patio and the inside has a nice old cozy feeling but, the food was always ho-hum to me and with my most recent visit a few weeks ago, it has retained that ho-hum quality. I certainly wouldn't get excited about the food but I also just like the drive down there.

    Bagels

If you haven't tried Super Duper Bagles in Livingston, you need to try them. A small out of the way place. The owner is somewhat of a jerk but the bageLs are incredibley well made. A light crunch to the outside and light and soft on the inside. Don't try buying them on Saturday, they're religious. Also they run out of a lot of them by about 10 or 11 am. CHECK IT OUT!!!
  12. I read the paper today on this restaurant.....what's up with it? EDIT: Merged by JHP
  13. I am a fanatic about clam chowder. Every Summer I used to go up to New England to try someone new for it. Then one day I was at a restaurant supply store and bought some frozen clams. On the back of the bag, was a recipe for NE clam chowdah. I pretty much followed the recipe and was awstruck at how great it was. I gave some to my son who seems to have an even more sensitive palate than I do. He couldn't believe how great it was either. Since then, he screams at me every couple of weeks to make it for him. Oddly, it's not time consuming or difficult nor does it involve a catalogue of ingedients. If anyone wants this receipe, let me know. I've copied it down and have refined it a little more also. I'll be happy to send it to you. bubba
  14. Living in the area, I find the food good but the desserts even better. But mostly, I find that it's a nice place to go and be seen.
