  1. Interesting. Do you have the address and phone? Tx
  2. I was unimpressed with the cleanliness. They cleaned our table with dirty napkins and we decided to leave without eating.First time there, and how disappointing. Don't know about the food, maybe is good, but I care about my health
  3. I'll go with this suggestion, thank you!
  4. well, I probably mis-used the term traditional, as this could mean different things in different places. What I meant by traditional was a 'real' salt beef, not something coming out of the packet, as my previous experience....please don't ask me what I mean by 'real 'now... :
  5. I have been here already, and was very good indeed, but this time I'm looking more for a traditional restaurant rather than a quick bite
  6. I’m not a red meat lover, but I can’t resist the taste of a proper salt beef. So far, one of the best I’ve tried is the one at Selfridges (!), but I’m looking for a decent one to have in a restaurant. I have been once at the restaurant close to Swiss Cottage, where they where advertising a big ‘Salt beef’ neon light sign. I was completely disappointed when I was served a thinly sliced out-of-the-packet kind. I haven’t seen the sign on this particular restaurant recently…. (must have been the several complaints!). Anyway, if you can suggest me your favourite place, where I can have the dish ‘traditionally’ done, I will be really grateful… (I’m already craving for it!!)
  7. Definetely not in the same league, but Monty's in Ealing (they have different branches in the area), seems to be constantly busy, and this is always a good sign. I have tried it myself, and although is not luxury eating (is very good value indeed), the food wasn't bad at all and the portions were quite generous
  8. I have only read and heard good things about Pied a terre,(apart from here!), and it is definitely a restaurant on my list. If you have already booked, maybe it's worth to go so you can have your own opinion.
  9. For the more adventurous, there is also a section @ Selfridges where you can buy a can of Cobra meat ()and other similar foods …but that’s probably for the very brave...!
  10. I have some guests coming from outside London, early November. I would like them to try an unusual restaurant with unusual food, and why not, even scorpions dipped in chocolate…..I have been to Arcipelago once (the former birdcage), and I liked the atmosphere (although I went for more conventional food at the time), but I would like to try something different. Your suggestions are deeply appreciated
  11. Would you be so kind to give us this recipe? Whenever I attempt to do ice-cream it always comes too 'icy' rather than’ creamy'
  12. Are you looking for suggestions specifically on the Victoria/Belgravia area?
  13. The menu looks really enticing, definitely one to try. Who’s the patron?
  14. How did I not think of this? I will certainly try Tx
  15. In London, ideally not in the outskirts Thank you
  16. Hi, Any suggestions for a fabulous Chinese meal? I’m looking for a restaurant that not only does fantastic food, but where the service is also of high standard ( I know this is normally not the norm with Chinese restaurants, that’s why I need your help!!) I’m planning a dinner out for next Friday (6 of us celebrating a birthday) Thank you
