  1. Rocco turns up in People's hottest boys of summer issue. Most of the hottest boys seem well, young, like "boys" and then there is Rocco.
  2. Relatives of mine in the midwest are asking if I've been there, how it is, etc. (I haven't & I don't know). They also ask if I've been to Topher's current place of employment. (no) I agree tourists will go looking for their "New York experience." People come here for Sex & the City tours, too bad Rocco didn't arrange a tie-in to that show, his restaurant would be booked until the next millennium.
  3. I'll be the first to admit that I watched all 6 episodes, cut other engagements short so I could run home to see it. Who knows why? It was different than most tv shows. The fact that several posters are posting negative comments isn't bandwagon-ing - it's called consensus. I don't know if Rocco had any say in editing, but a couple of the eps portrayed him as this really horny chef, kinda made me queasy. Maybe he's not like that. Anyway, doesn't mean I don't like the show. tommy
  4. Agree with other post-ers that this episode was horrible. I think we all expected the "look how far we've come" type of ending episode but this one was strange, with its focus on the rivaling blondes and smart alec kid. It seemed as if the idea was to show how there is so much happening here now, and nobody is complaining about the food, we are all beautiful, even the Yankees eat here. Jaw-dropping moment for me: Hearing Rocco, after being told that 'once he goes black he'll never go back', say, "I've done black women but never a married black woman." (paraphrasing) I was waiting for him to get it on with her right then and there. Also thought it was - not so cool - for him to say, "You're wasting your time with Lonn." Lonn could have said that and apparently hadn't, he was flirting and hugging them. Or maybe Lonn asked Rocco to rescue him. Who knows? I liked those women, they seemed fun, but glad i wasn't eating next to them. i think that's it, rocco's is a playground, a circus. don't pay attention to the food, just make out in the bathroom, make fun of your waitstaff, make fun of other patrons and fondle Rocco.
  5. Super Rocco?!?!?! Wow, now he's portrayed as a savior! This is all so self-serving and contrived!
  6. Wow, where to begin? Actually, just a quick thanks to all post-ers, I love you, I need you, I can't live without you. Secondly, (gimme a cigarette- whew!), there is a review of Rocco's in the food/dining section of the latest Village Voice - two stars. Not sure it's online or not, it's just a short blurb. Thirdly, Topher e-mailed me! I like him. He's cool. I'm not a stalker. I swear. Fourthly, the "when is it ok to review a new restaurant" discussion makes me thing of "The Theatre" and previews. It's all so clear over there. I think that's it. God bless the BOH, the FOH, the valet people and Rocco's mother. Peace out Ruthless
