Enjoy yourself! Tomorrow should be a good night to sit half in the lounge, half in the breeze...and have mr. wabeck help you a pick nice bubbly to start.
That's better than chocolate

Please turn on your $84 Texas Instrument graphing calcuators now.

Don't talk like that about my roommate!

I received an e-mail newsletter about the Jaleo/CC opening. But it was all jazzed up (broken images, etc.) so I couldn't tell you exactly what it said.
Did anyone receive the newsletter in a legible format?
Fancy Flash newsletters backfire. Maybe ScotterPie can paste it into da thread.

Looking forward to getting over there soon again...
Congrats to Robert, Tricia and rest of staff!
The one thing I might add is:
I've been eating those decadent fries at that other place for some time.
-
Repeat after me: my name is Don, and I am a risottoholic.
It's nice to know that things are just as good 365 days later (i got confused at first when I was reading). I can't believe the Tosca thread was left to rest that long.
Rest or rant, I guess. Restaurant.

Thanks for the superlative deviled eggs, Wabeck. And sorry I missed the rest of ye...
Long live the truffled fry, and morela too.

I was so excited to hear about a place close to home and then the let down.
Rocks was feeling a little manic that day. There will be more suburban treasure. Have no fear.

This is timeless. Rocks has 666 post!

Scooter:
Will there be a brunch at Oyamel, where I can get some goopy & good eggs? A Mexican omelette perhaps?
-
Also in the same strip as Spices is an authentic Italian deli called Vace (where you might get some nice italian cold cuts or cheese...or a sub, grinder or dope slice of pizza) and Firehook Bakery, where you can get the bread, cookies and a quick coffee if the line across the street at Starbucks is too long. Cashion's, not far from Omni, is another place to have a really good (but casual) meal.
Adding:
Smithsonian's Museum of the American Indian opens September 21, and it's by ticket only. From those who have had a sneak peak, I've heard that it's really worth the visit.

Here's Kliman on a place in my very own neighborhood, that I've never even heard of...
Hey, what's the name of that place named after a town in the province of Chieti that also has a cafe? I keep forgetting.

Looks like it may be so long from Crisfields, at least the one in the Lee Building at Georgia Ave. and Colesville Rd. There's three big signs up in the windows there saying "Restaurant Space For Rent." I wonder if rising rents due to the Sprung-ification of the area have something to do with that? Haven't driven by the original location further down Georgia recently, but presume it will keep carrying the torch for old-school, butter-drenched seafood as it has done for 50 years or so.
I was too scared to add Crisfield's in the irrational emotional attachments thread. My damn father fooled me into liking that place. He'd rave, and I'd keep my mouth shut. That's my irrational attachment to it...but deep, deep down, it gives me the willies. Yuck! Don't hate me for being real.
-
Houston's isn't irrational is it? Greasy chips with spinach dip and Chinese chicken salad...
What about Louisiana Express?
High's Dairy Stores (way out in the country now) for Slush Puppies and people without teeth? Now that's delusional!

5th Ammendment!

Firefly. John W. is a lovely host.
PS: Minibar isn't that romantic or that expensive...
It's fun, though!

Try grocery shopping one day.
It's a sobering experience and the carts make fine weapons.

It's cool to see people already talking about it!!! This has been hard work...eating all kinds of amazing food....trying 20 different anejo tequilas in a sitting. The restaurant business is SO hard
Hey, ScooterPie:
Welcome! Can you tell me more about some of the goodies you've tried? What is your roll in this business venture? Remind me what Oyamel means too.
Ciao.

One thing I know:
As mush as I adore 2 Amy's, their deviled eggs are weak. Pretentious oily ones as I recall and, like, I think those eggs need a trip to The Mayo Clinic.
Bring Out The Best, as they say...
The pizza, I love, though.

Michael,
Satanically good; everything was. The only difference tonight was that morela ate scallops and just like everything else, they were just cooked. Perfect velvet in my mouth.
Woof Woof. Our best dinner yet (so agreed all the grizzled resturant vets).
Yours Truly,
Deviled Egg (Wh)orela

Michael, since I know you're reading...
If you can do the deviled eggs this Sunday, I'll wear my eatin' dress...
Eitherway, see you then.

I think I'm headed to goopy Mexican with a non-foodie tonight. Woo Hoo!

Here's this week's column:
Someone certainly knows how to make the best of a sick day.
Glad you're feeling better, Todd.
On a Whim... What are you up to...
