I've never thought of doing a steak and mushroom pizza, but I must say that looks very appealing.   And so does that chicken. Great colour.

Thanks Ann.  To be honest, I never would have thought of it either, but my wife had some at a local pizza parlor and wanted me to make it for her.  I must say it came out very tasty.  I pre-cooked the toppings - the steak to make sure it woulb be cooked and the onions and mushrooms to release moisture to keep the pizza from getting soggy.

Thank you for the step by step on muy choy kow yok. Will have to try this soon!

Hello all, new member here (but I've been lurking on this thread a while). Really enjoy browsing through these posts. Lots of great ideas!

Tonight:
image.jpg

Pan fried chicken breast coated with violet mustard and panko crust then finished in the oven. Violet mustard cream sauce on the side. Collards cooked in bacon fat with chicken skin cracklings

Yesterday:

Pork spare rib, dried cuttlefish & lotus root soup. I used
this post as a basic recipe but tweaked some ingredients based on availability.

Spicy Spanish mussels, with almond picada

Recipe for the mussels: http://www.nytimes.c...panish+mussels/ (as written, except that I omitted the hazelnuts because I felt it didn't need it, and I also halved the amount of garlic since I was using rocambole garlic)

Pressed some firm tofu, then made a paste with sesame oil, soy, garlic, 5 spice, ginger, mirin, chopped cilantro and scallion. Dabbed paste on cubed tofu and baked. Sliced some nice (thick-ish) asparagus (hello, Spring). Sautéed briefly, added remainder of paste diluted with water and some white miso, covered pan and simmered a couple of minutes. Added chopped water chestnut and baked tofu cubes and served with jasmine rice. Colors were pretty, didn't remember to take photo.

Boneless chicken thighs with sauteed beet greens. These greens were so fresh that I changed my dinner plan just to enjoy them. The crispy chicken skin didn't hurt either.

Wedge salad again.

13093029394_22eba90ae1.jpg

The end of the green chile pork over white rice..  Miss A made leftovers.   Fried up two tortillas and served on the side with creme. the chile is too spicy for Miss K so, we pulled frozen salmon steak out of the freezer.
