I'd love to attend, but I'd have to wing a work trip to justify transatlantic travel....I think I'm on the maybe-maybe list (also date depending). I was soo envious reading the reports from this years comference

Mette - We would love to have you join us; truly, we are a group of people who enjoy sharing our experiences and knowledge with like minded folks. I'm still working/hoping on a "March" timeframe - more to follow in the near future. March is not to hot in this area that time of year and a good time for a visit.

Lior - I am so hoping you'll be able to make it next year that I'm going to start buying lottery tickets for your airfare too -

Sort of on tenterhooks about the date, since if it falls during high season, we probably wouldn't be able to manage the trip (we'd be coming from Denmark, and we're buying a house, too).

I buy tickets weekly so if they ever produce much more than a free ticket I'll be helping with your air fare too! Love to meet you.

That is so sweet and really made me smile!!! You know I would never be able to accept though!! If we win a lot we could use it for the workshop-no end of ideas!! Now I feel like a kid dividing up the future money that I am sure to win-I'll give mom and dad... my annoying brother will only get...
I would love to meet all of you and it will happen one day-I just know it.

I had so much fun in Canada last time so put me in the Pretty Definite category. 6 months is a little far out for planning for me but I'll be there if at all possible. I will have at least one class, possibly two, completed at the Callebaut Chocolate Academy in Chicago by then so I should have something to contribute this time:)

My class is in a couple of weeks so I will post when I get back and then have some ideas for topics but I always like the discussions on the business side things.

I've been MIA from here for far too long, thanks for the message Robert.

Count me in - I don't know much about confectionery but I would love to learn and DC is so close to Philadelphia.

Dependant upon the month count me as a Maybe, I've got a little one due the end of January so not sure if I'd be up to transatlantic travel early in the year.

You can put me down as a strong maybe...March is perfect for me.

Lisa, I'd split the cost of a hotel room with you if that would help out! Pulled sugar has always been my nemesis...

I'm going to be working this week to (hopefully) nail down some specific dates for the conference so those of you in the Maybe - pending dates - column can begin to start to work towards a definite time frame.

Plus, those pending collecting their lottery winnings will be able to know how long they have to actually cash in their tickets...

Would anyone be interested in a chocolate showpiece workshop - Rob is willing to teach?

Here are a couple of his sculptures.

. . . .

Good lord. YES.

For whatever my opinion is worth, given that I'm still in the 'interested maybe' category, pending the announcement of the probable date (and compounded by the fact that the Phila. 'Heartland' gathering is looking awfully, good, too, and there's no way we'd be able to do both).

Absolutely yes! Having taken a class at Callebaut (Chicago) early this year, I'm very excited at the thought of learning more technique.

Did you all think because of my silence that I was blown out to sea with Hurricane Irene? Not so....

I've had several very interesting conversations with the Dean at Stratford University here in Northern Virginia. They are very interested in hosting us (conversations continue). If we are able to come to agreements, I was told that they have chocolate tempering machines and sugar equipment (which will help Lisa with her demonstration on Sugar).

They also have several chef's on staff who are often called upon by the White House to work on State Dinners and they may be willing to join us for some instruction.

Wilbur Chocolate and Joe Sofia have graciously offered to sponsor the conference once again, Joe would be happy to come down and spend a day with us, also teaching and guiding. I'll talk to him personally at the Chocolate Show in Atlantic City on September 12th.

There are lots more things happening behind the scenes, but I didn't want anyone to think this topic has fallen off the tracks.

It's shaping up nicely.

Okay RobertM you can put me down as a maybe...I have possible obligations next March that I'm not sure will conflict, but having read the thread on what you have planned, it sounds like it would definitely be worth my while! And I would love to meet all of those who are planning on attending!
