I have been reading about Chef Waerebeek but all I can find out is that she is the chef for Concha y Toro and that she is a leading authority on Chilean cuisine.

Does anyone know if she is at a restaurant we could visit?

Thanks,
Patti

Concha y Toro is a very well known wine producer and marketing company
you should find it easily in either white or yellow pages or ProChile(Official Export Trade Agency) website.

We are going there for a tour, but I was just curious if anyone knew if she worked outside of the winery.

This is an older post, but inquiring minds want to know! My google searches are coming up with only her Concha y Toro connections.
Vinos Concha y Toro

At this website they have some courses that are regarding wine+food and it's possible that she's the chef, but it doesn't list for sure. It may be worth a call there to see.

Thanks, Caarina. We leave for S.A. on Friday and are touring Concha Y Toro on Monday.

Will return with a full report.

Turns out Chef Ruth is at the little tapas place at Concha y Toro.

We got to meet her and she served us a lovely ham and goat cheese tapas plate.

Aside from serving as the gastronomic consultant at Conca and Toro Chef Waerebeek now operates Mapuyampay Hostal Gastronomico with her husband. We met her recently at a cooking class in San Antonio TX, and we will be spending a few days with her to take classes this coming January. We will be reporting back. The web site for her establishment is Mapuyampay Hostel Gastronomico check it out. It looks wonderful.
