I have to admit that I find him to be an annoying bufoon. Especially on Mario's otherwise Excellent Journey through Italy. But I've read that he's actually a chef and quite intelligent. What's the deal?

He is really intelligent and funny. A very talented chef. Nice guy. Lovely wife...the works.I have to admit that I find him to be an annoying bufoon. Especially on Mario's otherwise Excellent Journey through Italy. But I've read that he's actually a chef and quite intelligent. What's the deal?
He was scripted to be a sidekick, someone mario could teach...a foil...and it came out a bit over the top than was originally intended on paper/
but steve is awesome and not a buffoon.
he originally worked in the test kitchen of "Good Eats"

Steve Rooney also teaches cooking in Atlanta. He was the executive chef for Mean Streets (Brown's old production company) and played the French Chef character on Good Eats.
