The title says it. I'm looking for duck fat and I live near Milford. Anyone know a source?

Thanks, Linda

Have you thought about calling Cinco Lagos and asking Chef Polcyn?

No, that's not something I had thought of. I guess I could.

Just thought of an Asian market. They cook with duck fat quite often. I'll call around.

Amazon offers several sources for duck fat on their site from small jars to tubs. Williams-Sonoma has been carrying a jar of duck fat from a firm by the name of Rougie. I believe Rougie also has a web store where the products can be found.

No local sources for me so Amazon fills the void. As JBailey said, lots of different size containers available. I try to find someone to split a gallon with. From Hudson Valley Foie Gras, its $35 + shipping. They have lots of smaller options, but I find them to be REALLY expensive.

A topic near and dear to my heart: A couple Thanksgivings ago I was hoping to make Nigella's roasted potatoes to go with a suckling pig. I perplexed all the employees in the Elmira Wegmans looking for goose or duck fat. The butcher did have some duck kidneys. It is this sort of situation that encourages my hoarding behavior!

I imagine the Whole Foods in West Bloomfield would carry it. Worth a call, anyway.
Gene Weingarten, writing in The Washington Post about online news stories and their readers' comments: "I basically like 'comments,' though they can seem a little jarring: spit-flecked rants that are appended to a product that at least tries for a measure of objectivity and dignity. It's as though when you order a sirloin steak, it comes with a side of maggots."

Hi,

Why don't you buy a duck and cook it?
